Oscar Blandi (Pronounced BLAHN-dee) is a celebrity hair stylist best known for his work with Kelly Ripa, Sofia Vergara, Faith Hill, and other high-profile clients.

Early life

Oscar Blandi was born and raised in Naples, Italy. He began styling hair at the age of fourteen in the back of his father's salon, and left to work in several of his father's colleagues’ salons. Blandi attended art school. Later he moved to the United States, and worked in the early 1990s at the Astor Place Beauty Salon and a small salon on Thompson Street. He subsequently opened his own salon in the Plaza Hotel on Madison Avenue. In 2005, Blandi launched his self-developed Oscar Blandi Product Collection. [1]

Salon

The Oscar Blandi Salon opened in 1998. His team consists of about 30 stylists (including his brother, Luca Blandi), manicurists, and beauticians.

Beauty Pop is a shōjo manga series written and illustrated by Kiyoko Arai. It originally ran in the Japanese manga magazine Ciao. Beauty Pop is published in English by VIZ Media under the Shojo Beat label and in French by Soleil Manga. The manga focuses on the life of a naturally talented hairstylist named Kiri Koshiba and her problems with the "Scissors Project," a group of boys determined to become the best makeover team in Japan. Beauty Pop went on a short hiatus from Ciao, but it came back under the title Beauty Pop Stage 2. The series has also been adapted into a Drama CD, which was released on 25 November 2004.

James Albert Markham is an American hair stylist and serial entrepreneur, who has founded four hair care companies– Markham Products, ABBA Pure and Natural, PureOlogy Serious Colour Care, and, most recently, ColorProof Color Care Authority. He was also celebrity stylist Jay Sebring's protege and successor of Sebring International after Sebring was murdered by the Manson Family. Markham is known for advancing the Sebring cutting technique and introduced a generation of men to a new way of cutting and caring for their hair in the early 1970s, which emphasizes cutting hair in the direction it grows, daily washing and conditioning, and blow-drying. By 1973 Markham had improved upon the concept and took it nationwide over the next decade, coining the technique The Markham Method.
