Osfest was an annual music festival held at Oswestry Showground, organised by Seventh Sense Management.

History

Plans for the festival were made public in December 2009. [1] The first show took place in 2010 and featured headliner Lemar alongside a variety of local and national acts. [2] [3] [4] In 2014, the festival was postponed until August, reportedly due to difficulty booking acts in May. [5] Following the 2014 edition the organisers announced that the festival would not return for 2015 and for the foreseeable future. [6]

Location

Osfest was held on the outskirts of the Shropshire market town Oswestry. The showground is host to a variety of farming markets throughout the year, including the Oswestry Show. [7]

The 2012 headliner was Razorlight. [8]

For 2014, the acts announced so far include: Wiley, Nina Nesbitt, Foxes (Singer), Neon Jungle, Conor Maynard, Union J, Elyar Fox and Luke Friend.

Razorlight English indie rock band

Razorlight are an English indie rock band, formed in 2002 in London by lead singer and guitarist Johnny Borrell. Along with Borrell, the current line-up of the band is composed of founding members Björn Ågren on guitar and bassist Carl Delemo, as well as drummer Andy Burrows. This lineup is a reunion of the lineup from the band's second and third albums.

Exit (festival)

Exit ; stylized as EXIT, is a summer music festival which is held at the Petrovaradin Fortress in Novi Sad, Serbia. Founded in 2000, it has twice won the Best Major Festival award at the European Festivals Awards, for 2013 and 2017. Green Man Festival Major music festival held annually in Wales

The Green Man Festival is an independent music, science and arts festival held annually in mid-August in the Brecon Beacons, Wales. Founded by Jo Bartlett and Danny Hagan in 2003 and now run by Fiona Stewart, Green Man has evolved into a 25,000 capacity week long event, showcasing predominantly live music. The festival site is divided into 10 areas, hosting literature, film, comedy, science, theatre, wellness and family acts. It is also possible to stay for a week at the festival site, known as the Settlement, and explore the surrounding area.

Bristol Harbour Festival

The Bristol Harbour Festival is a festival held annually in the English city of Bristol, and which the celebrates the city's maritime heritage and the importance of Bristol's docks and harbour. Most of the activities, including live music, street performances, fireworks and a variety of other live entertainments, are held on or near the waterfront of Bristol Harbour. Venues include Queen Square, Lloyds Amphitheatre, Millennium Square and Castle Park, with seagoing vessels moored nearby. The liveliest part of the festival is quayside, but the main attractions are entertainment designed to engage all the communities of Bristol, as well as entertain the thousands of visitors to the city.

Glastonbury Extravaganza Performing arts festival in Somerset, England

The Glastonbury Extravaganza is one of three events organised by Michael Eavis and the Glastonbury Festival each year. The other events are the major Glastonbury Festival and the local Pilton Party. It has been held in the grounds of the ruined medieval Glastonbury Abbey in Somerset since 1996. Kendal Calling

Kendal Calling is a music & arts festival, held annually at Lowther Deer Park in the Lake District, Cumbria in the North West of England. It has grown from a two-day, 900 capacity event in 2006 to a 25,000 capacity 4-day music festival. Kendal Calling has 9 stages and has featured live performances from notable artists such as Blondie, Pendulum, Doves, Dizzee Rascal, James, Mumford & Sons, Calvin Harris and British Sea Power. In 2010 Kendal Calling was awarded the Best Small UK Festival Award at the UK Festival Awards, as voted by the public. Kendal Calling also won the industry award 'Best Small Festival' at the LIVE UK awards 2011. Superstruct Entertainment, the live entertainment platform backed by Providence Equity Partners, owns the festival after it entered definitive agreement for the acquisition of several live music and entertainment festivals from Global Media & Entertainment and Broadwick Live.

Hevy Music Festival was a rock festival that took place annually near Folkestone, Kent, in the UK. It was originally held on 1 August 2009 on Folkestone seafront as a one-day festival with Feeder, Gary Numan and Ash as headliners. In 2010 it moved to Port Lympne Wild Animal Park and grew to a weekend camping festival held from 6–8 August. The headline artists included Glassjaw, Gallows, Sepultura and the Subways, and the festival provided a variety of rock music genres including punk rock, alternative rock, hardcore punk and heavy metal along with extreme sports displays and state-of-the-art thrill rides.

Hop Farm Festival

Hop Farm Music Festival is an annual music festival at The Hop Farm Country Park in Paddock Wood, Kent, England, first created by John Vincent Power of Festival Republic. After its first year it was nominated at the UK Festival Awards with "Best New Festival".

The LeeStock Music Festival is an annual music festival, held in Long Melford, Suffolk, since 2006 in memory of a local man, Lee Dunford, who died the same year. The festival raises money for the Willow Foundation, a national charity that gives special days to seriously ill young adults. The festival is part of a number of events that aim to raise the profile of the Willow Foundation and raise money for them including a pub crawl, a football match, and a Twenty20 cricket match. Prior to the 2012 festival, LeeStock has raised £25,000 for the Willow Foundation.

Lakefest is a festival, which began as a music and cider festival, yet in its second year has booked big UK bands propelling it to the status of a full blown music festival.

British Summer Time (concerts) Music festival in London

British Summer Time Hyde Park is a music festival held over two weekends once a year in London's Hyde Park. It was the first event AEG Presents held in Hyde Park since they acquired the rights to host concerts there, and features a wide range of musical genres. Since 2013, BST Hyde Park has seen headliners such as Celine Dion, The Rolling Stones, Bon Jovi, Barbra Streisand, Lionel Richie, Kylie Minogue, Black Sabbath, Neil Young, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, Arcade Fire, The Who, Blur, The Strokes and Taylor Swift. In 2019 the capacity was 65,000.

Wickham Festival

Wickham Festival is a four-day music event that takes place in the village of Wickham, Hampshire, England. Wickham hosts live music and comedy across four stages, as well as food stalls, craft stalls, real ale and cider bars and children's entertainers. It has been listed by The Guardian as a top 'Family Friendly Boutique Festival'. The 2015 Wickham Festival was named Best Festival at the Live UK Music Business Awards, and the 2018 event won Best Festival at The Guide Awards, with the 2019 event taking the title of Best Live Event.
