Ott Sepp (born 29 June 1982) [1] is an Estonian actor, comedian, singer, writer and television presenter.
Born in Tallinn, Sepp graduated from the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre in 2004 [2] and began performing at the Estonian Drama Theatre in 2005. Since 2006 he has been a principal actor at the Vanemuine theater in Tartu. [3] Sepp has had prominent roles in Estonian films such as Names in Marble (2002), Malev (2005) and Tulnukas (2006); the latter two of which also featured his frequent television partner Märt Avandi. The two men have worked together as co-hosts of Eesti otsib superstaari (English: Estonia is Searching for a Superstar, the Estonian version of Pop Idol ) in 2008 and performed together on the comedic parody television program Tujurikkuja (2008–2016), as well as co-hosting Eesti laul in both 2010 and 2011. In 2016, Ott Sepp and Märt Avandi hosted the final of Eesti Laul in Saku Suurhall. Eesti laul is Estonia's televised competition to select the country's Eurovision entry and singer. [4] [5]
Sepp has appeared in stage productions at the Vanemuine theatre based on the works of: Oskar Luts, Rudyard Kipling, Juhan Liiv, Emily Brontë, George Bernard Shaw, Ole Lund Kirkegaard, Edward Albee and William Shakespeare. [6]
In 2021, Sepp took part in a number of videos titled Toidukool (Food School) promoting meat consumption on the website Lihafaktid (Meat Facts) for the European Livestock Voice, compiled by the Estonian Chamber of Agriculture and Commerce. [7]
Eesti otsib superstaari(Estonia is Searching for a Superstar) is an Estonian reality-competition gameshow airing on TV3. It debuted on 11 March 2007 and it has since become one of the most popular shows in Estonia. Part of the Idol franchise, it originated from the reality program Pop Idol created by the British entertainment executive Simon Fuller, first aired in 2001 in the United Kingdom.
Birgit Sarrap, also known mononymously as Birgit, is an Estonian singer. Õigemeel rose to prominence in 2007 after winning the first season of Eesti otsib superstaari, the Estonian version of Idol. Her debut self-titled studio album was later released in 2008. Õigemeel has gone on to release four other studio albums in her career.
The second season of Eesti otsib superstaari started on February 3, 2008 and lasted until June 2008. The hosts of first season were replaced by two male comedians/actors, Ott Sepp and Märt Avandi. Heidy Purga, Mihkel Raud and Rein Rannap continued as judges.

Estonia participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 with the song "Verona" written by Sven Lõhmus. The song was performed by Koit Toome, who had previously represented Estonia in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1998 where he placed twelfth with the song "Mere lapsed", and Laura, who had previously represented Estonia in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2005 as part of the group Suntribe where she failed to qualify to the final with the song "Let's Get Loud". The Estonian broadcaster Eesti Rahvusringhääling (ERR) organised the national final Eesti Laul 2017 in order to select the Estonian entry for the 2017 contest in Kyiv, Ukraine. The national final consisted of three shows: two semi-finals and a final. Ten songs competed in each semi-final and five from each semi-final as determined by a jury panel and public vote qualified to the final. In the final, the winner was selected over two rounds of voting. In the first round, a jury panel and a public vote selected the top three to qualify to the super final. In the super final, "Verona" performed by Koit Toome and Laura was selected as the winner entirely by a public vote.
