Asian Kung-Fu Generation is a Japanese alternative rock band formed in Yokohama in 1996. For its entire career, the band has consisted of vocalist Masafumi Gotoh, guitarist Kensuke Kita, bassist Takahiro Yamada, and drummer Kiyoshi Ijichi. Starting out as a college band, Asian Kung-Fu Generation released a series of independent EPs featuring lyrics mostly sung in English. In 2002, they released their major-label EP debut Hōkai Amplifier, from that point singing their lyrics in Japanese. The band's musical style is influenced by seminal Western alternative rock acts as well as their own local Japanese indie-rock and punk scene. Their songs incorporate various aspects of the genres, most typically expressing fast tempos and prominent power chord guitar riffs in addition to rhythmic groove and emotional lyrics. Despite the indie nature of their music, the band has enjoyed worldwide commercial success in addition to critical acclaim. Asian Kung-Fu Generation has been cited as one of the best, most balanced modern rock bands to emerge from Japan in the 2000s.

The Loud Park Festival is a heavy metal festival held annually at Saitama Super Arena in Saitama City or Makuhari Messe in Chiba City, Japan. It's one of the biggest heavy metal festivals in Japan.

Sound Farm Studio & Recording Environment was a 6,000-square-foot (560 m2) full-service recording studio and production facility with an attached residence located in Jamaica, Iowa, built in 2003. Matthew Sepanic, owner, producer and engineer; worked on projects by Slipknot (All Hope is Gone, Iowa, Murderdolls, and Stone Sour amongst others. He also co-produced and engineered The Envy Corps's debut album Dwell which was released in 2008 on Mercury Records/Vertigo Records. The band recorded and resided at Sound Farm in late 2006 and early 2007.

Outrage is a Japanese thrash metal band, formed in Nagoya in 1982. They made their debut in 1987 with a lineup of Yosuke Abe on guitar, Yoshihiro Yasui on bass, Shinya Tange on drums and Naoki Hashimoto on vocals. Hashimoto left the band in 1999, but the group continued as a three piece and he returned in 2007. With a career spanning over four decades, Outrage are one of few Japanese metal bands to have never disbanded or paused activities.

Masanori Ito is a Japanese music critic and radio personality, also known as Seisoku Ito and Masa Ito. His work is specialized in heavy metal and hard rock, and he is known as the leading music critic of Japan in this field. He has been quick to introduce new heavy metal bands to Japan, through writing for magazines such as Burrn! and putting them on the air. Ito wrote the initial story draft of the 2022 film Hagane Iro no Sora no Kanata he (鋼音色の空の彼方へ), based on the story of Japanese thrash metal band Outrage.
