The Oxylidini are a small tribe of butterflies in the family Lycaenidae. [1] It is alternatively treated as a subtribe, Oxylidina, of the Theclini.

Genera

The tribe contains a mere two genera at present, but as not all Theclinae have been assigned to tribes, the following list is preliminary:

In biology, a tribe is a taxonomic rank above genus, but below family and subfamily. It is sometimes subdivided into subtribes. By convention, all taxonomic ranks above genus are capitalized, including both tribe and subtribe.

Apidae Taxonomic family that includes honey bees (sting or stingless), bumble bees and orchid bees

Apidae is the largest family within the superfamily Apoidea, containing at least 5700 species of bees. The family includes some of the most commonly seen bees, including bumblebees and honey bees, but also includes stingless bees, carpenter bees, orchid bees, cuckoo bees, and a number of other less widely known groups. Many are valuable pollinators in natural habitats and for agricultural crops.

Noctuidae Type of moths commonly known as owlet moths, cutworms or armyworms

The Noctuidae, commonly known as owlet moths, cutworms or armyworms, are the most controversial family in the superfamily Noctuoidea because many of the clades are constantly changing, along with the other families of the Noctuoidea. It was considered the largest family in Lepidoptera for a long time, but after regrouping Lymantriinae, Catocalinae and Calpinae within the family Erebidae, the latter holds this title now. Currently, Noctuidae is the second largest family in Noctuoidea, with about 1,089 genera and 11,772 species. However, this classification is still contingent, as more changes continue to appear between Noctuidae and Erebidae.

Orchidoideae Subfamily of orchids

The Orchidoideae, or the orchidoid orchids, are a subfamily of the orchid family (Orchidaceae).

Bambuseae Tribe of grasses

The Bambuseae are the most diverse tribe of bamboos in the grass family (Poaceae). They consist of woody species from tropical regions, including some giant bamboos. Their sister group are the small herbaceous bamboos from the tropics in tribe Olyreae, while the temperate woody bamboos (Arundinarieae) are more distantly related. The Bambuseae fall into two clades, corresponding to species from the Neotropics and from the Paleotropics.

Noctuoidea Superfamily of moths

Noctuoidea is the superfamily of noctuid or "owlet" moths, and has more than 70,000 described species, the largest number of for any Lepidopteran superfamily. Its classification has not yet reached a satisfactory or stable state. Since the end of the 20th century, increasing availability of molecular phylogenetic data for this hugely successful radiation has led to several competing proposals for a taxonomic arrangement that correctly represents the relationships between the major lineages.

Arctiina Subtribe of moths

The Arctiina are a subtribe of moths in the family Erebidae.

Lithosiini Tribe of moths

The Lithosiini are a tribe of lichen moths in the family Erebidae. The taxon was described by Gustaf Johan Billberg in 1820.

Hadenini Tribe of moths

The Hadenini are a mid-sized tribe of moths in the Hadeninae subfamily. As numerous hadenine genera have not yet been assigned to a tribe, the genus list is preliminary.

Vandeae Tribe of orchids

The Vandeae is a large monophyletic tribe within the family of orchids.

Oxylides albata, Aurivillius' common false head, is a butterfly in the family Lycaenidae. It is found in Nigeria, Cameroon, the Republic of the Congo, the Central African Republic, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, western Uganda and Rwanda. The habitat consists of forests.

Oxylides bella is a butterfly in the family Lycaenidae. It is found in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Oxylides binza is a butterfly in the family Lycaenidae. It is found in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (Kinshasa).

Oxylides feminina is a butterfly in the family Lycaenidae. It is found in Uganda, the Democratic Republic of the Congo and north-western Zambia.

Oxylides stempfferi is a butterfly in the family Lycaenidae. It is found in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Oxylides gloveri is a butterfly in the family Lycaenidae. It is found in the Republic of the Congo and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Syrmoptera amasa Species of butterfly

Syrmoptera amasa, the white false head, is a butterfly in the family Lycaenidae. It is found in Nigeria, Cameroon and Gabon. The habitat consists of forests.

Syrmoptera bonifacei, commonly known as Boniface's false head, is a species of butterfly in the family Lycaenidae, named for Boniface Watulege. It is found in Nigeria, Cameroon, and the Republic of the Congo. The habitat consists of forests.

Rauvolfioideae Subfamily of flowering plants

Rauvolfioideae is a subfamily of the flowering plant family Apocynaceae. Many species are woody lianas, others are shrubs or perennial herbs.

Dendrobieae Tribe of orchids

Dendrobieae is a tribe in the subfamily Epidendroideae, in the family Orchidaceae.
