PAC International, LLC. manufactures a complete line of acoustical noise control products for use in residential (single-family housing and multiple-family housing) and commercial building construction. [1] [2]
The company introduced the first rubber isolator, the RSIC-1 (Resilient Sound Isolation Clip) product in 2000. [3] Resilient Sound Isolation Clips are manufactured in the United States and sold throughout the Americas. RSIC-1 was engineered to provide noise control and be both cost effective and environmentally friendly.
PAC International's noise control products help buildings exceed the International Building Code requirements for both fire and sound. The RSIC-1 product is the only noise control product classified by Underwriters Laboratories (UL) for both fire and sound[ citation needed ]; and the PAC Line of Products is UL Classified for use in over 189 fire resistive design assemblies. An optical table is a vibration control platform that is used to support systems used for laser- and optics-related experiments in science, engineering and manufacturing. The surfaces of these tables are designed to be very rigid with minimum deflection so that the alignment of optical elements remains stable over time. Many optical systems require that vibration of optical elements be kept small. As a result, optical tables are typically very heavy and incorporate vibration isolation and damping features in their structure. Sound Transmission Class is an integer rating of how well a building partition attenuates airborne sound. In the US, it is widely used to rate interior partitions, ceilings, floors, doors, windows and exterior wall configurations. Outside the US, the ISO Sound Reduction Index (SRI) is used. The STC rating very roughly reflects the decibel reduction of noise that a partition can provide. Vibration isolation is the process of isolating an object, such as a piece of equipment, from the source of vibrations. Vibrations propagate via mechanical waves and certain mechanical linkages conduct vibrations more efficiently than others. Acoustic quieting is the process of making machinery quieter by damping vibrations to prevent them from reaching the observer. Machinery vibrates, causing sound waves in air, hydroacoustic waves in water, and mechanical stresses in solid matter. Quieting is achieved by absorbing the vibrational energy or minimizing the source of the vibration. It may also be redirected away from the observer.

This mechanism means that the disconnection of the load circuits and the suppression of the electrical arc, produced by a constant DC load, is normally extinguished in a maximum of 5 ms using the specific pole suppression chambers incorporated into the design.
