The discography of English post-metal/post-rock band PSOTY (originally named Pet Slimmers of the Year) includes two studio albums, three extended plays, three singles, and one music video. [1] [2] The band recorded two demo songs, "Urquidez" in March 2008, and "Everything I Have Ever Done Has Led Me to This Point" in April 2008, which were later combined on the self-released EP, Why Won't You Die . [3] Another stand-alone track, "Brujas", was recorded in September 2008, and later appeared exclusively on the Canadian record label Abridged Pause Recordings' Various Artists compilation, Diluvian Temperals, on 24 August 2009. Contents

Pet Slimmers of the Year recorded three songs for its eponymous EP, Pet Slimmers of the Year , in October 2008, which was released digitally via the British netlabel Lost Children Net Label on 15 January 2009. [6] [7] In May 2009, the band began demoing material for its follow-up EP; one of these recordings, "Untitled", later appeared exclusively on Abridged Pause Recordings' Various Artists compilation Billowing Tempestus in April 2016. [3] [8] Pet Slimmers of the Year recorded five songs for its next EP, ...And the Sky Fell , in January and February 2010; the release was issued via Lost Children Net Label on 27 June 2010. [9] [10] Both Lost Children Net Label EPs were later re-issued on CD and digitally by the band. [3] [11] [12] [13]

In April 2012, Pet Slimmers of the Year recorded the single "Days Since I Disappeared", and a music video was later filmed for the song in November 2012; the single was released after considerable delay via British management company-turned record label, Anchor Music, on 26 August 2013. [14] [2] The song appeared on the band's debut full-length album, Fragments of Uniforms (the rest of which was recorded in June 2013), which was first released as a limited edition CD through Anchor Music on 31 October 2013, before the band was signed with the British record label Candlelight Records in January 2014. [1] [15] "Days Since I Disappeared" was re-issued via Candlelight Records on 13 January 2014, while Fragments of Uniforms was re-issued via Candlelight Records on CD and digitally on 14 April 2014, [16] [17] and a coloured double-LP version followed on Back on Black Records on 23 June 2014. [16] [17] Candlelight Records also included "Days Since I Disappeared" on its Various Artists compilation Candlelight Records Presents: Legion III, released on 28 April 2014. [18] [19]

In January 2016, PSTOY joined the Finish record label Spinefarm Records and the Dutch-American corporation Universal Music Group's roster, [20] and followed up with its sophomore full-length album, Sunless , which was recorded in February and March 2019, and released on CD, double-LP and digitally on 13 September 2019. [21] [22] [23] The album was preceded by the singles "Oil Blood", released on 26 July 2019, [24] [25] and "King of Ephyra", released a week ahead of the album, on 6 September 2019. [26] [27]

Throwdown is an American heavy metal band from Orange County, California. Formed in 1997, the band has endured numerous lineup changes to the point where no original members remain. Throwdown has toured as part of Ozzfest, Sounds of the Underground, Hellfest, and Warped Tour, as well as with bands such as In Flames, Lamb of God, As I Lay Dying, Killswitch Engage, Korn and Cavalera Conspiracy. The songs "Forever" and "Burn" were staples on MTV2's Headbangers Ball and Revolver Magazine called them part of "The Future of Metal" after hearing the album Vendetta. Initially branded a hardcore punk band, albums like Venom and Tears and Deathless took a sharp turn towards metal, with critics likening the band's sound to that of Pantera and Sepultura. The band are straight edge.

It Dies Today is an American metalcore band formed in Buffalo, New York, in September 2001. The band achieved success in 2004 with the release of their debut album, The Caitiff Choir. After frontman Nicholas Brooks departed in 2006, just after the release of the band's sophomore effort Sirens, It Dies Today released Lividity in 2009 before going on hiatus in 2010. The band reunited briefly for a show in 2012, but the reunion paused again in 2015. On December 22, 2022, It Dies Today was announced as an act appearing at FurnaceFest 2023.

Cursed was a Canadian hardcore punk band formed in 2001 and dissolved in 2008. It featured members from Montreal, Toronto, and Hamilton of various other Canadian DIY bands such as Haymaker, Left for Dead, The Swarm aka Knee Deep in the Dead, Acrid, Ruination, The Black Hand, Countdown to Oblivion, At the Mercy of Inspiration, Shallow North Dakota, Crux of Aux, Quest for Fire and Burning Love.

Candlelight Records is a British record label based in London, founded by former Extreme Noise Terror bass guitarist Lee Barrett in 1993. The record label originally specialized in black metal, but quickly expanded to various other forms of heavy metal, extreme metal and hard rock, including death metal and melodic death metal, thrash metal, symphonic metal, metalcore, gothic rock, post-rock and post-metal. Some of the company's flagship bands include Emperor, 1349, Blut Aus Nord, Ihsahn, Opeth, Christian Death, Orange Goblin, Burning The Oppressor, Winterfylleth, Zyklon, Abigail Williams, Insomnium, Havok, Obituary, Nachtmystium and Limbonic Art.

Chokehold is a Canadian vegan straight edge hardcore punk band from Hamilton, Ontario. They were active from 1990 to 1996, and came together again for a reunion tour in 2015, and five dates in Japan in September 2016. They released their third album in 2019.

Grade is a melodic hardcore band from Burlington, Ontario, often credited as pioneers in blending metallic hardcore with the honesty and melody of emo, and - most notably - the alternating screaming/singing style later popularized by bands like Poison the Well and Hawthorne Heights. Formed in 1994, Grade found inspiration in the hardcore bands Integrity and Chokehold. By 1995, however, they had discovered Indian Summer and Rye Coalition and began developing the sound and style for which they had become known.

Morning Again is an American metalcore band from Florida. They were known for their metallic sound as well as for their straight edge, vegan, anti-religious and anti-government ideals. The band was a "sister band" to Culture, often switching members after one had left the other. Several members went on to play in other bands such as As Friends Rust and Dead Blue Sky. The band was originally from Cooper City, Florida, but moved to Coral Springs in 1998 before breaking up later that year. After playing several reunion shows over the years, the band released a new EP in 2018.

Eulogy Recordings is an American independent record label established in early 1997 by hardcore guitarist John Wylie. The record company was founded in Cooper City, Florida but its headquarters moved around in various parts of Broward County, Florida. Since its buy-out in 2018, it has been based in Atlanta, Georgia.

Tribunal Records is a heavy metal and hardcore punk label that started in 1999. The label also has a subsidiary entitled Divebomb Records. Tribunal has hosted bands such as From the Shallows, Scarlet, and Century, while Divebomb hosts bands such as Wulfhook, Zephaniah, and Helion Prime.

The original line-up recorded a demo tape in November 1996, but failing to secure a record deal, the band parted ways in February 1997. After reforming later that same year, but with a new line-up, the band recorded one new song and combined it with some of the demo's songs to create its debut EP, The Fists of Time, for Belgium's Good Life Recordings in July 1998. In December 1998, As Friends Rust released a split with Discount, also on Good Life.

PSOTY is an English post-metal/post-rock band from Peterborough, Cambridgeshire. The musical group was founded in January 2008, by guitarist and vocalist Scott Gowan, bass guitarist Steve McKenna, and drummer Dale Vinten, who had previously played together in the progressive/post-rock band A Thousand Fires. Second guitarist Adrian Lawson joined the band in October 2016. The band took its name from an annual award listed in the Schott's Almanac reference book. In August 2014, the band's named was shortened to the acronym PSOTY, taken from the initials of Pet Slimmers of the Year.

It was originally released by Anchor Music on compact disc on 31 October 2013; it was later re-issued by Candlelight Records on compact disc and digitally on 14 April 2014, and on 6 May 2014 ; and by Back on Black Records on double 12-inch vinyl on 23 June 2014.

<i>Sunless</i> (album)

Sunless is the second full-length album by English post-metal/post-rock band PSOTY. It was co-released by Candlelight Records, Spinefarm Records, and Universal Music Group on 13 September 2019, on compact disc, double 12-inch vinyl, and digitally. The album features the singles "Oil Blood", which was released on 26 July 2019, and "King of Ephyra", which was released a week ahead of the album on 6 September 2019.

...And the Sky Fell is the second extended play by English post-metal/post-rock band Pet Slimmers of the Year. It was first released digitally by Lost Children Net Label on 27 June 2010. It was later re-issued by the band with new artwork, first on compact disc on 23 February 2011, and then digitally on 11 May 2012.

Once established in Quebec, the band was expanded with two more guitarists, Nidal Mourad and Adam Kennedy, but they departed before the recording of the group's third output.
