History

Pacific Links International was established in 2012. [1] By 2014, it owned 10 golf clubs in the US and through its network of owned, affiliate and reciprocal clubs controlled more than 100 clubs worldwide. [1] [2]

In 2015, Pacific Links International hired Tiger Woods to redesign Beijing Tian'an Holiday Golf Club. [4]

In 2015 the company established Pacific Links Championship in Tianjin, China. [5] In 2016 and 2017 it was held in Victoria, Canada. [5]

As of 2018, the company controlled 700 golf properties located in 34 countries around the world.[ citation needed ] It also offered concierge services to its members.[ citation needed ]

It moved to the 27 Club in Tianjin, China for the 2015 season but was eventually canceled. It moved to Victoria, British Columbia, Canada for the 2016 season

Located in 26 states, the District of Columbia, and 2 countries outside of the United States, the company and its clubs have more than 430,000 members and employ around 20,000 people.

Donald Trump is closely associated with the sport of golf. As a real estate developer, Trump began acquiring and constructing golf courses in 1999. By the time of his election as United States President in 2016, he owned 17 golf courses worldwide through his holding company, the Trump Organization. Courses owned by Trump have been selected to host various PGA and LPGA events, including the 2022 PGA Championship. A spokesman for the Trump Organization said that "This is a breach of a binding contract and they have no right to terminate the agreement".
