Paddington: The Musical is an upcoming musical with music and lyrics by Tom Fletcher and a book by Jessica Swale. It is based on the characters from Michael Bond's book series and StudioCanal's film series. It is also the second stage adaptation of the book series, following Shirlie Roden's 1983 musical Paddington Bear's Magical Musical. [1]

The musical is set to have its world premiere at the Savoy Theatre in London's West End from 1 November 2025. [2]

Background

The musical is being developed by Sonia Friedman Productions, StudioCanal and Eliza Lumley Productions on behalf of Universal Music UK. [3] [4] The musical will be directed by Luke Sheppard, and workshops were held in 2023 and 2024, where families were invited to view with their children. During these workshops, Sheppard reportedly asked the parents in attendance to leave the room at the end so he could hear the children’s feedback on the show. [5]

West End (2025)

In April 2025, it was announced that Paddington: The Musical would be making its world premiere in the West End at the Savoy Theatre and is scheduled to begin performances from 1 November 2025. [6] On 21 August 2025, the initial casting and creative team were announced. [7]
