Patrick Peter Evans (born 25 August 1981) is an English former first-class cricketer.
Evans was born at Hammersmith in August 1981. He later studied at Keble College,Oxford where he played first-class cricket for Oxford University. [1] He made two first-class appearances for Oxford,playing in The University Matches of 2002 and 2003 against Cambridge University. [2] Playing as a wicket-keeper,he scored 30 runs with a high score of 16. [3]

The Oxford University Parks,commonly referred to locally as the University Parks,or just The Parks,is a large parkland area slightly northeast of the city centre in Oxford,England. William Henry Brereton Evans was a South African-born English first-class cricketer who played 66 times in the early 20th century. An all-rounder,he played county cricket for Worcestershire and Hampshire,as well as representing the Gentlemen against the Players,but he appeared most for Oxford University,whom he represented on 31 occasions. He scored nearly 1,800 runs,and took 120 wickets for Oxford. It was said in Wisden in 1914 that he was "one of the best all-round amateurs of his day," and that if he had played more regularly,it was "quite likely" he would have played Test cricket for England. Evans died in one of the earliest aviation accidents in August 1913,when he was thrown from Samuel Franklin Cody's prototype Cody Floatplane.

The Magdalen Ground was a cricket ground in Oxford,England. The ground was owned by the University of Oxford and used by Magdalen College,a constituent college of the University of Oxford. Originally forming the northern point of Cowley Marsh,the ground was initially associated with the Magdalen College School,whose students played cricket there. By 1829,the Oxford University Cricket Club had been given a part of the marsh where the College School played cricket. In 1851,it was purchased at auction by the University of Oxford and leased to the University Cricket Club. The ground operated as a first-class cricket venue from 1829 to 1880,hosting 69 first-class matches. The University Cricket Club left the ground following the 1880 season to play at the University Parks from 1881.
