Padraic James Flanagan (born 9 March 1996) is an Irish first-class cricketer.
Flanagan was born at Dublin in March 1996. He was educated at St Michael's College,before going up to Trinity College,Dublin. [1] From Trinity,he studied in England at St Catharine's College at the University of Cambridge. [2] While studying at Cambridge,he made a single appearance in first-class cricket for Cambridge University against Oxford University in The University Match of 2020 at Fenner's. [3] Batting twice in the match,he was dismissed for 8 runs in the Cambridge first innings by Ben Fisher,while in their second innings he was dismissed for 2 runs by Freddie Foster. With his right-arm medium-fast bowling,he bowled 13.1 overs in the Oxford first innings,taking 3 wickets,while in their second innings he took 2 wickets from 18 overs bowled. [4] Alongside Oxford's Will von Behr who also featured in this match,Flanagan was the first Trinity College graduate to feature in The University Match since Thomas Babington Jones in 1874. [2]
Edward William Bastard was an English first-class cricketer who played for Oxford University and Somerset. Bastard was a slow left-arm orthodox bowler,described in his Wisden obituary as Somerset's best bowler during his time with the club. Bastard was also part of the Oxford team often said to be the university's best ever.
Oxford UCCE started their 2005 first-class season with a weak draw against a Gloucestershire side that opted to use the game as batting practice. Their second first-class game,against Derbyshire,Oxford UCCE did well in the first innings,dismissing their visitors cheaply and building up a large lead. However,they weren't able to dismiss them a second time,in a game which was reduced through rain. In the third match,they lost by ten wickets against Lancashire,after a poor showing in their second innings.
Samuel Moses James Woods was an Australian sportsman who represented both Australia and England at Test cricket,and appeared thirteen times for England at rugby union,including five times as captain. He also played at county level in England at both soccer and hockey. At cricket—his primary sport—he played over four hundred first-class matches in a twenty-four-year career. The majority of these matches were for his county side,Somerset,whom he captained from 1894 to 1906. A. A. Thomson described him thus:"Sammy ... radiated such elemental force in hard hitting,fast bowling and electrical fielding that he might have been the forerunner of Sir Learie Constantine."
Lionel Charles Hamilton Palairet was an English amateur cricketer who played for Somerset and Oxford University. A graceful right-handed batsman,he was selected to play Test cricket for England twice in 1902. Contemporaries judged Palairet to have one of the most attractive batting styles of the period. His obituary in The Times described him as "the most beautiful batsman of all time". An unwillingness to tour during the English winter limited Palairet's Test appearances;contemporaries believed he deserved more Test caps.
Charles Frederick Lyttelton was a priest from the Lyttelton family. As an English first-class cricketer,he played 31 games for Cambridge University,Worcestershire and Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) in the early twentieth century. He was educated at Eton College and Trinity College,Cambridge,and became a clergyman.
Lucius Henry Gwynn was an Irish academic and sportsman who was noted for his prowess in both rugby union football and cricket.
Thomas Arnold Harvey was an Irish cricketer and Rugby Union player. He was captain of Dublin University Cricket Club in 1902,and while still at Trinity College Dublin (TCD) toured with an Ireland XI. Harvey was also an international hurdler as a student. He later became a Church of Ireland (Anglican) bishop.

Major Antony Ronald Legard,nicknamed Loopy,was an Indian-born English first-class cricketer who played 36 matches,mostly for Oxford University,in the 1930s. He also played twice for Free Foresters and had one match each for Worcestershire,the Europeans in India and Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC).
Frank Carroll Cobden was an English cricketer who played for Cambridge University and the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC). In the University Match of 1870 he famously took a hat-trick comprising the last three Oxford University batsmen when Oxford required only three more runs to win. Thus Cambridge University won by two runs a match which they had seemed certain to lose. This feat led to the 1870 match becoming known as "Cobden's Match".
