The Pala Alpitour is a multipurpose indoor sports/concert arena that is located in the Santa Rita district of Turin, Italy. It is a few metres east of the Olympic Stadium. The arena has a seating capacity of 12,350 when it is configured for ice hockey, and it is the largest indoor sporting arena in Italy. The arena was originally built at a cost of €87 million euros, for the 2006 Winter Olympics, and long with the Torino Esposizioni, it hosted the ice hockey events.
The English Institute of Sport is a multi-sport facility in Sheffield, England. The facility designed by FaulknerBrowns Architects was opened in December 2003 at a cost of £24 million. Its main feature is a 200m indoor track, but it also hosts several other sporting arenas as well as a large gym and extensive sports medicine facilities. It is in the Lower Don Valley between the Sheffield Arena and Don Valley Bowl. It is managed by SIV.
The 2009 Summer Universiade, officially known as the XXV Summer Universiade, was celebrated in Belgrade, Serbia from July 1 to 12, 2009. The event has also been organised by a range of co-host cities mostly in Vojvodina, close to Belgrade. It was the largest sporting event ever to be organised by the city. At this Universiade the biggest star was the Russian rhythmic gymnast Evgeniya Kanaeva, who won 5 gold medals. Russia was the leading nation in the medal table, with the most gold medals (27) and most medals (76).

The Milan Indoor, also known under various sponsored names, was a men's professional tennis tournament held from 1978 until 2005. It took placed in Milan, Italy with the exception of three years (1998–2000) when it was held in London, United Kingdom. The event was part of the Grand Prix circuit (1981–89) and ATP Tour (1990–2005) and was played on indoor carpet courts, except fro the 2000 edition which was played on an indoor hard court. The most successful singles players were John McEnroe and Boris Becker who both won four titles. Stefan Edberg and Roger Federer won the first singles title of their career at the event. A single female edition of the event was held in 1991, won by Monica Seles. Due to a lack of sponsorship the tournament was replaced on the 2006 ATP Tour by the Zagreb Indoors.

It is the home of Vanoli Cremona of the Lega Basket Serie A and Pomì Casalmaggiore of the Women's volleyball Serie A1. The venue capacity was first increased in the eighties to 2,918 spectators, and then to 3,519 after a second renovation in 2009, in which the arena was also renamed after Mario Radi.
