Pam Pollard is an Oklahoma politician and former chair of the Republican Party of Oklahoma. She has previously served as the Vice Chair of the Republican Party of Oklahoma,and the President of the Oklahoma Federation of Republican Women. She is the owner and President of Pollard Accounting and Tax Service.
As state Chairwoman,Pollard was a delegate to the 2016 Republican National Convention,but she was not bound to a predetermined candidate. [1] She was among the handful of unbound delegates nationwide who publicly announced support for Donald Trump before the July 18 Convention,enabling Trump to clinch the nomination on May 26,2016. [2] [3] She told the Associated Press,"I think he has touched a part of our electorate that doesn't like where our country is... I have no problem supporting Mr. Trump." [2] British political reporter Jack Blanchard described Pollard as "divisive". [3]
Pollard was an enthusiastic supporter of Sarah Palin in 2008. [4]
Pollard graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in Forest Engineering.[ citation needed ] Later she returned to school and earned a B.A in Accounting from East Central University.[ citation needed ]
Pollard worked in small business accounting and tax preparation for over 27 years. [5]
Pollard served on the Board of Directors for The Hugs Project. In 2004 she served as the coordinator for the 72 hour "Get Out The Vote" program for the Republican Party of Oklahoma.[ citation needed ] Later,in 2005 she took a job as an office manager and scheduler for Congressman Ernest Istook's 2006 gubernatorial campaign. Later that year she became the state treasurer for the Oklahoma Federation of Republican Women.[ citation needed ]
In 2007,Pollard was elected as the chair of the Oklahoma County Republican Party and became the assistant state director with Americans for Prosperity.[ citation needed ] In 2010 she worked with Mary Fallin's gubernatorial campaign.[ citation needed ]
Pollard was elected President of the Oklahoma Federation of Republican Woman in 2014.[ citation needed ] Later,in 2015,Pollard campaigned for Chair of the Oklahoma Republican Party. She lost the election to Randy Brogdon but after Brogdon resigned,she was elected. [6]

Approximately one-third of all delegates to the presidential nominating conventions can be won on Super Tuesday,more than on any other day. Randall C. Brogdon is an American businessman and politician from the state of Oklahoma. He was a state senator for Oklahoma's 34th senate district from 2002 until 2011. Brogdon ran for governor of Oklahoma in 2010 on a platform of tax cuts and reducing the role of government. He was defeated by Mary Fallin. On December 25,2013,Brogdon announced that he would challenge incumbent Governor Fallin in the 2014 gubernatorial election. However,he withdrew to run for the U.S. Senate in a special election triggered by the retirement of Tom Coburn. He lost the nomination to representative James Lankford. In April 2015,he was elected as chairman of the Oklahoma Republican Party.

Delegates to the national convention in other states were elected by the respective state party organizations. The delegates to the national convention voted on the first ballot to select Donald Trump as the Republican Party's presidential nominee for president of the United States in the 2020 election,and selected Mike Pence as the vice-presidential nominee.
The 2021 Virginia gubernatorial election was held on November 2,2021,to elect the next governor of Virginia. The election was concurrent with other elections for Virginia state offices. Incumbent Democratic Governor Ralph Northam was ineligible to run for re-election,as the Constitution of Virginia prohibits governors from serving consecutive terms. Businessman Glenn Youngkin won the Republican nomination at the party's May 8 convention,which was held in 37 polling locations across the state,and was officially declared the nominee on May 10. The Democratic Party held its primary election on June 8,which former Governor Terry McAuliffe easily won.
