The album was met with generally favorable reviews from music critics, including AllMusic and Rolling Stone, and won a Soul Train Lady of Soul Award for Best R&B/Soul Album of the Year.
Love, Peace & Nappiness is the second studio album by American hip hop group the Lost Boyz. It was released on June 17, 1997, via Universal Records. Recording sessions took place at Unique Recording in New York and at Honey Comb Hideout in Brooklyn. Production was handled by Bink!, "Buttnaked" Tim Dawg, Glenn S.O.N. Faide, Mr. Sexxx, Ron G, Terence Dudley, DJ Rob, Easy Mo Bee, Ike Lee III, "Pito" Jones, and Charles Suitt, who also served as executive producer. It features guest appearances from A+, Canibus, Queens Most Wanted, Da Black Pharaoh, King Keiwanee, Lovebug Starski, Redman and Aarian Pope. The album peaked at number nine on the Billboard 200 and number two the Top R&B/Hip Hop Albums chart in the United States. It was certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of America on September 17, 1997. Its lead single "Me and My Crazy World" reached number 52 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Special Occasion is the second studio album by American R&B singer Bobby V. It was released by Disturbing tha Peace and Def Jam Recordings on May 8, 2007, in the United States. The singer co-wrote over three quarters of the album, which also features songwriting and production from Tim & Bob, Rodney "Darkchild" Jerkins, Timbaland, Sean Garrett, Don Vito, Bryan-Michael Cox and Dre & Vidal. Pleasure & Pain is the fifth studio album BY American R&B group 112. It was released by Def Soul on March 29, 2005 in the United States. Named after the song "Pleasure & Pain" on 112's 1996 eponymous debut album, 112, the album did not fare as well as their first three albums, but the album did manage to spawn one hit single in 2005; the single "U Already Know" peaked at #32 on the Billboard Hot 100, while the second single "What If" reached #74. It was the first 112 album to get a Parental Advisory sticker. Tonight is the third studio album by American R&B group Silk, released on March 23, 1999 on Elektra Entertainment. It was their first album in four years and the reason for the break was due to the group wanting to be more involved in the creative process. Another reason for the hiatus was due to the lackluster performance of their previous album Silk (1995), which caused the group to seek new management after dealing with financial and legal issues. After severing ties with their former managers, they were managed by Sonja Norwood, mother of singer/actress Brandy Norwood. They were soon given the green light to record a new album by Elektra's then-president Sylvia Rhone, who let them take their time to record the album until they had the right songs.

Two singles were released: "Getto Star" and "Everyday", with the latter reached number 79 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs.

That's Life is the ninth studio album by American country music artist Neal McCoy. It was released on August 23, 2005 on his own 903 Music label. Three singles were released from this album: "Billy's Got His Beer Goggles On", the first of these three, reached #10 on the Hot Country Songs charts in 2005, becoming McCoy's first Top Ten hit since "The Shake" in 1997. "The Last of a Dying Breed" peaked at #35, while "Tail on the Tailgate" failed to chart. Also included here is a live rendition of "Hillbilly Rap", the original version of which was an album cut from his 1996 self-titled album.

The Trackmasters are an American hip hop production duo composed of music producers Poke and Tone, best known for their commercial hit records in the mid-late 1990s and early 2000s. Frank "Nitty" Pimentel joined forces with the duo to complete the success of "Trackmasters". Throughout their career, they have worked with various hip-hop and R&B artists including Destiny's Child, Nas, R. Kelly, LL Cool J, Mary J. Blige, Will Smith, Jay-Z, Cam'ron, Jennifer Lopez, Mariah Carey, The Notorious B.I.G. and 50 Cent.
