Panjab University (PU) is an Indian collegiate public state university located in Chandigarh. Funded through both State and Union governments, it is considered a state university. It traces its origins to the University of the Punjab in Lahore, which was founded in 1882. After the partition of India, the university was established on 1 October 1947, and called East Punjab University. Initially housed primarily at a cantonment in Solan, it later relocated to a newly built campus in Chandigarh, and was renamed Panjab University. It is accredited by NAAC at five star level, with the highest NAAC A++ accreditation grade.

Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law (RGNUL), is a public law school and a National Law University located in Patiala, Punjab, India. It was established in 2006 by the Punjab Government as a university dedicated to the field of Legal Education. The first vice-chancellor of the University was Gurjit Singh.. The institution is currently being headed by Prof (DR.) Anand Pawar (Officiating). RGNUL started functioning from its Headquarters-Mohindra Kothi, The Mall, Patiala w.e.f. 26 May 2006. From session of 2013 RGNUL started functioning in its permanent 50-acre (20 ha) campus which is located at scenic Sidhuwal, 12 km (7.5 mi) from Patiala. RGNUL is affiliated to UGC and approved by the Bar Council of India. It is one of the autonomous law schools in India.
The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is a centralized national-level entrance test for admissions to the 25 out of 27 National Law Universities (NLU) except NLU Delhi and NLU Meghalaya which administer their own entrance exams, the All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) and the NLU Meg Admission Test, respectively. Both AILET & MEG UAT are anticipated to be merged into CLAT in the coming years. CLAT was first introduced in 2008 as a centralized entrance examination for admission to the National Law Schools/Universities in India. A few private and self-financed law schools in India also use these scores for law admissions. Public sector undertakings in India like ONGC, Coal India, BHEL, the Steel Authority of India, Oil India, the Indian Army use CLAT Post Graduation scores.
National Law University, Delhi (NLUD) is one of the National Law Universities in India, situated in Sector-14 of Dwarka, Delhi. It offers courses at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. As one of the national law schools in India, NLUD is built on the five-year law degree model proposed and implemented by the Bar Council of India. The National Law University Act, 2007, provides for the Chief Justice of India to be the university's visitor and the Chief Justice of the High Court of Delhi to function as the university's chancellor, and its vice-chancellor to function as the chief administrator.

She was the second Vice-Chancellor of HPNLU, Shimla and the third woman Vice Chancellor at a National Law University. She served as the Vice Chancellor of Himachal Pradesh National Law University, Shimla from November 2018 till January 2024.
