Parkroyal Collection Pickering, known at the time as PARKROYAL on Pickering, was opened in 2013. [5]

Architecture

Designed by WOHA, a Singapore-based architecture firm, [6] designed this hotel as a hotel-as-garden that actually doubled the green-growing potential of its site. It includes green walls, water features and 15,000 m2 of tiered "sky gardens", claiming to be self-sustaining and are designed to consume minimal energy with the use of solar cells, motion sensors, rainwater harvesting and reclaimed water. The World Architecture Festival (WAF) is an annual festival and awards ceremony, one of the most prestigious events dedicated to the architecture and development industries. Central Park is a major mixed-use urban renewal project in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia located on Broadway in the suburb of Chippendale. The development is focused on a new public park located just off Broadway of approximately 6,500 square metres (70,000 sq ft) in size. For many decades the southern side of Broadway was dominated by a brewery, which closed in the 2000s and the site was put up for sale. Frasers Property purchased the site from the Foster's Group on 29 June 2007. The building's exterior, constructed atop vertical grid panels, will appear more "furry" over time, with only specks of its orange, pink and maroon aluminium mesh exterior remaining visible. About 40 percent of the building's volume consists of communal green space elevated vertically into the skyscraper.
