Paskal Augustine Bronson Rois (29 August 1978) is a Ghanaian diplomat, entrepreneur and musician. He is the honorary consul of the Republic of Indonesia in Ghana and also the Founder and chief executive officer of Rois Group of companies Limited. [1] [2] [3] [4]
Rois was born in Ho in the Volta Region to the Ben Cudjoe Buoh, a former SSNIT worker from Akrofu Xeviwofe near Ho, and Josephine Akosua Kassah, a retired educationist from Dzodze-Penyi in the Volta Region. [3] [5] He attended A.M.E Zion Primary in Penyi, Methodist Junior High School in Ho, and Kpando Senior High School in Kpando for his high school education. Rois obtained Higher National Diploma in Purchasing and Supply from the Accra Technical University. [6] He furthered his education and obtained Bachelor of Science in Procurement from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA). [6]
Rois started work as an offshore materials administrator with Seadrill Ltd, an international oil drilling company in 2012. He was able to establish his own oil company Rig Oil International Services (ROIS) Ltd within a spate of one month after joining Seadrill Ltd. ROIS Ltd, a subsidiary of ROIS Group of Companies Ltd, is an upstream service provider in the oil and gas industry in Ghana and other countries in Africa. [1] [6] In 2013, he established Elolo Oil and Gas Ltd and Jokas Oil Fields Services (JOS) Ltd. He later established other companies in the mining, oil and gas, energy, aviation, media, agriculture, health and hospitality sectors. [6]
In April 2021, he was appointed as the honorary consul of the Republic of Indonesia in Ghana under the Presidential Decree of the Republic of Indonesia by Joko Widodo. [3] [6] He was sworn into office on 26 May 2021 in attendance of Ambassador Dr Usra Hendra Harahap, Indonesian Ambassador to the Federal Republic of Nigeria. [3] [7] One of his key roles is to ensure the safety of the Indonesian community in Ghana and help build upon the existing bilateral relationship between Ghana and Indonesia. [8] [3]
Rois is a Christian. He is married to Gifty Etsa Rois who is also a share holder of ROIS Group Ltd. [3] The couple have three children. He is a motivational speaker and identifies himself as a mentor for the youth on the African continent. He is an Ewe. [5]
He began his music career in 1999–2000 under the stage name Togbe Afrika and had 4 albums to his credit. His songs such as 'Danye Sidzima', 'Menya be Awoenam', 'Kpedentor', 'Mawuneyrawo Togbe Afefe among others were popular in Ghana, Togo, and Benin in the early 2000s. [6]
Volta Region is one of Ghana's sixteen administrative regions, with Ho designated as its capital. It is located west of Republic of Togo and to the east of Lake Volta. Divided into 25 administrative districts, the region is multi-ethnic and multilingual, including groups such as the Ewe, the Guan, and the Akan peoples. Hohoe Municipal is one of the 25 administrative districts of the Volta Region of Ghana. It was carved out of the former Kpando District. It was established by the Legislative Instrument of 2012. The Municipality has a total land area of 1,172 km2, which is 5.6 per cent of the land area of the region. It shares borders with the Republic of Togo on the east, forming part of Ghana's international border; on the southeast by the Afadzato district and southwest by Kpando Municipality; on the north with Jasikan district; and on the northwest with the Biakoye districts. Its capital, Hohoe, is about 78 km from Ho, the regional capital and 220 km from Accra, the national capital. The population of Hohoe Municipality, according to the 2010 Population and Housing Census, is 167,016 representing 7.9 per cent of the total population of the Volta Region. It comprises 52.1 per cent females and 47.9 percent males.
South Dayi District is one of the eighteen districts in Volta Region, Ghana. Originally it was formerly part of the then-larger Kpando District on 10 March 1989, until the southern part of the district was split off by a decree of president John Agyekum Kufuor on 19 August 2004 to create South Dayi District; thus the remaining part has been retained as Kpando District. The district assembly is located in the western part of Volta Region and has Kpeve as its capital town.
The Kpalime Traditional Area is located mainly in the South Dayi District of the Volta Region of Ghana. This area originally was located partly within the Kpando District of the Volta Region but with the creation of new districts in 2004, it now falls within the South Dayi District.
