The Kolkata Metro is a rapid transit system serving the city of Kolkata and the wider Kolkata Metropolitan Region in West Bengal, India. It is the first operational rapid transit system in India, and the second busiest metro network in India. As of January 2023, it has three operational lines: a 32.33 km (20.09 mi) line from Dakshineswar to Kavi Subhash, a 9.1 km (5.7 mi) line from Salt Lake Sector V to Sealdah, and a 6.5 km (4.0 mi) line from Joka to Taratala, for a total of 47.93 km (29.78 mi). Three other lines are in various phases of construction. The system has a mix of underground, at-grade and elevated stations using both broad-gauge and standard-gauge tracks. Trains operate between 06:55 and 22:30 IST and the fares range from ₹5 to ₹25.
Namma Metro, also known as Bengaluru Metro, is a rapid transit system serving the city of Bengaluru, India. It is the second longest operational metro network in India with an operational length of 73.75 kilometers just behind Delhi Metro. Upon its inauguration, it became the first underground metro system in South India. Namma Metro has a mix of underground, at grade, and elevated stations. Out of the 66 operational metro stations of Namma Metro as of October 2023, there are 57 elevated stations, eight underground stations and one at-grade station. The system runs on standard-gauge tracks.
The Red Line is a metro rail line of the Delhi Metro, a rapid transit system in Delhi, India. It is an entirely elevated line and has 29 stations that runs from Rithala to Shaheed Sthal with a total distance of 34.55 km. The Tis Hazari – Shahdara section of this line was the first stretch of the Delhi Metro that was constructed and commissioned. The line connects the areas of Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh and the districts of Shahdara, Central Delhi and North West Delhi in Delhi.
The Hyderabad Metro is a rapid transit system, serving the city of Hyderabad, Telangana, India. It is the third longest operational metro network in India after Delhi Metro and Namma Metro (Bengaluru), and the lines are arranged in a secant model. It is funded by a public–private partnership (PPP), with the state government holding a minority equity stake. Hyderabad Metro is the world's largest elevated Metro Rail system based on DBFOT basis. A special purpose vehicle company, L&T Metro Rail Hyderabad Ltd (L&TMRHL), was established by the construction company L&T to develop the Hyderabad metro rail project.
Inderlok is an interchange metro station of the Red Line and Green Line of Delhi Metro. The station is the terminal for the Green Line to Brigadier Hoshiyar Singh, which is located in Bahadurgarh district of Haryana. One interesting thing about the Inderlok station is that the Green Line meets the Red Line perpendicularly here, unlike all the other interchange stations. This design choice ended the possibility of extending the line in the future.

It is India's largest and busiest metro rail system and the second-oldest, after the Kolkata Metro. The metro has a mix of underground, at-grade, and elevated stations using broad-gauge and standard-gauge tracks. The metro makes over 4,300 trips daily.
Patna Metro (Patna MRTS) is a rapid transit system being constructed in the city of Patna, India. Construction will be completed over five phases, and the transit system would be owned and operated by the state-run Patna Metro Rail Corporation. In the first phase, five stations of Patna Metro will be operational by March 2025. Patna MRTS, constructed under a public-private partnership model, is estimated to cost ₹133,657.7 million (US$1.7 billion). This cost excludes land acquisition cost, which will be paid for by the Bihar government. The first phase (consisting of the east–west and north–south corridors) will include both a 15.36 km (9.54 mi) elevated track and a 16.30 km (10.13 mi) underground track.
Nagpur Metro is a rapid transit system for the city of Nagpur, Maharashtra, India. Phase I of the metro project cost was estimated to cost ₹8,650 crore but the final project cost incurred was ₹9,279 crore (US$1.2 billion). In February 2014, the Government of Maharashtra gave approval for the Metro project, while the Government of India's Ministry of Urban Development had given "In Principle" approval for the project. On 20 August 2014, Union Cabinet gave approval for the development of the project, and the Prime Minister laid the foundation stone on 21 August. Construction began on 31 May 2015, with trial run beginning on 30 September 2017.

Patliputra Junction, Station code (PPTA), is a railway station in the Rukanpura area in the West End of Patna, Bihar. The station, which is governed by East Central Railway and managed by Danapur railway division, lies on the Patna–Sonepur–Hajipur section. Located 12 kilometres north-west of Patna Junction, it has primarily been developed to ease pressure on the city's other two railway stations, through which roughly 350 trains pass daily. It is located near Bailey Road, an important western thoroughfare in Patna. Patliputra junction has become the fourth terminal of the Danapur railway division after Patna Junction, Danapur station and Rajendranagar Terminal.
The Magenta Line is a metro rail line of the Delhi Metro, a rapid transit system in Delhi, India and the first driverless metro in India. The total length of the line is 37.46 kilometers (23.28 mi) and it consists of 25 metro stations from Janakpuri West to Botanical Garden, out of which 10 are elevated and the rest are underground. Unlike the Airport Metro Express, this line directly serves Terminal 1 of the Indira Gandhi International Airport.

Line 6 (Pink Line) of the Mumbai Metro is a rapid transit metro line in the city of Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. The 14.477 km (8.996 mi) elevated line will connect Lokhandwala Complex with Vikhroli and will have 13 stations.
Patna–Digha Ghat line was a railway line connecting Patna Junction and Digha Ghat railway station in the Indian city of Patna. It was constructed by the British in 1862, and functioned intermittently. The railway line was revived in 1962–63 and 2004 by the then Indian Railway Ministers, Jagjivan Ram and Lalu Prasad Yadav, respectively. Passenger train operations on the route were economically unviable due to low ridership. However, trains continued to run on the railway line in order to prevent encroachment.
Raidurg Metro Station is located on the Blue Line of the Hyderabad Metro. The station was opened on 29 November 2019, two years after first commercial operation of Hyderabad metro started. It is located near Raheja Mindspace Junction. Raidurg metro station is the busiest metro station in Hyderabad with daily footfalls of around 60,000 commuters. In February 2020, Synchrony Financial became the sponsor of the Raidurg metro station, under semi-naming policy of Hyderabad metro to generate non-fare revenues.
The Koderma–Hazaribagh–Barkakana–Ranchi line is an Indian railway line connecting Koderma Junction in the Asansol–Gaya section with Hazaribagh Town, Barkakana and Ranchi. This 211-kilometre (131 mi) track is under the jurisdiction of South Eastern Railway and East Central Railway.
