Patrick Vetterli (born 6 October 1961) is a Swiss athlete. He competed in the men's decathlon at the 1984 Summer Olympics. [1]

The modern pentathlon was composed of five events, show jumping, fencing, shooting, swimming, and running, with the individual points each competitor receives counting towards their nations final tally for each event, and ultimately the competition. The results that the competitors received in the individual modern pentathlon event would cross-over to produce the scores in the team event. 51 competitors participated in the event representing 17 nations.
