Patriots is a dramatic stage play by British playwright Peter Morgan. The play follows the life of billionaire Russian businessman Boris Berezovsky through the decline of the Soviet Union and the rise of the Russian oligarchs.
Patriots had its world premiere at the Almeida Theatre in London on 12 July 2022, following previews from 2 July. It played a limited run to 20 August. [1] The cast featured Tom Hollander, Will Keen, Yolanda Kettle, Luke Thallon, Matt Concannon, Stephen Fewell, Ronald Guttman, Aoife Hinds, Sean Kingsley, Paul Kynman, Jessica Temple and Jamael Westman. [2]
In August 2022, it was announced that the Almeida production would transfer to the Noël Coward Theatre in the West End. The show began previews on 26 May 2023 with an official opening on 6 June 2023. The show played a 12-week limited engagement, concluding on 19 August 2023. [3]
In January 2024, it was announced that the show will transfer Broadway for a 12-week limited engagement. Will Keen and Luke Thallon reprised their performances as Vladimir Putin and Roman Abramovich respectively, with Michael Stuhlbarg joining the cast as Boris Berezovsky. The show began previews on April 1, 2024 at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre and officially opened on April 22 . [4] Sonia Friedman is the producer. [5] Full casting was announced on 27 February 2024. The Broadway production is directed by Rupert Goold. [6]

Stephen Fewell is a British actor who portrays Jason Kane in the audio adventures of Bernice Summerfield. He has also appeared in classical theatre, in various Doctor Who audio productions, an episode of the 2005 Channel 4 drama The Courtroom, Headlong Theatre's production of Paradise Lost at the Hackney Empire and in the musical play ENRON at the Royal Court and in the West End.
Tracie Bennett is an English singer and stage and television actress. She trained at the Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts in Clapham, London. She played the role of Sharon Gaskell in Coronation Street from 1982 to 1984, returning to the role in 1999 and again in 2021.

In February 2017, Morgan was awarded a British Film Institute Fellowship.
Rupert Goold is an English director who works primarily in theatre. He is the artistic director of the Almeida Theatre, and was the artistic director of Headlong Theatre Company (2005–2013). Since 2010, Goold has been an associate director at the Royal Shakespeare Company. He was appointed Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in the 2017 for services to drama.
William Walter Maurice Keen is an English stage, television, and film actor. He has worked in theatre and television in both Britain and Spain. He was a trustee of the James Menzies Kitchin Award, an award set up for young theatre directors in memory of the director with whom Keen collaborated early in his career.
Sonia Friedman is a British West End and Broadway theatre producer. On 27 January 2017, Friedman was named Producer of the Year for the third year running at The Stage Awards, becoming the first person to win the award three times. In 2018, Friedman was featured in "TIME100", Time Magazine's 100 Most Influential People of 2018 and was named Broadway Briefing's Show Person of the Year. Hangmen is a play by the British-Irish playwright Martin McDonagh.
