Paul A. Brodeur (born April 24,1964) was the mayor of Melrose,Massachusetts. Previously,he was a state legislator in the Massachusetts House of Representatives,representing the 32nd Middlesex district. [2]
Melrose is a city located in the Greater Boston metropolitan area in Middlesex County,Massachusetts,United States. Its population as of the 2020 census was 29,817. It is a suburb located approximately seven miles north of Boston. It is situated in the center of the triangle created by Interstates 93,95 and U.S. Route 1.
Melrose High School (MHS) is a public high school serving children in grades 9–12. It is located at 360 Lynn Fells Parkway in Melrose,Massachusetts,United States and is Melrose's only high school. Enrollment for the 2010–2011 school year is 987 students. The school is accredited by the New England Association of Schools &Colleges (NEASC) and is a member of the METCO program.

Primary elections were held on October 15,in which Democratic state senator Katherine Clark and Republican Frank Addivinola won their party nominations. State law required that Governor Deval Patrick call a special election between 145 and 160 days after the vacancy became official. On December 10,Clark easily defeated Addivinola with almost 2/3 of the vote,holding the seat for the Democrats. Clark's win marked the 92nd consecutive U.S. House loss by Republicans in Massachusetts since 1996.
