Paul Heron Robinson Jr. (born June 22,1930) is a United States businessman who was United States Ambassador to Canada from 1981 to 1985.
Robinson was born in Chicago on June 22,1930. He attended Hinsdale Township High School in Hinsdale,Illinois. After graduating from high school,Robinson attended the University of Illinois,receiving a B.S. in 1953. Robinson served in the United States Navy from 1953 to 1955,achieving the rank of Lieutenant. He later founded his own business,Robinson,Incorporated,working as a broker for banks and professional institutions. He was also an active member of the Republican Party.
In 1981,President of the United States Ronald Reagan nominated Robinson to be United States Ambassador to Canada. Robinson presented his credentials on July 15,1981,and served in Ottawa until September 9,1985. He began discussions with the Liberal government headed by Prime Minister of Canada Pierre Trudeau about easing trade restrictions between the U.S. and Canada. With the election of Progressive Conservative Brian Mulroney in the 1984 Canadian federal election,these talks were expanded to discussions about a comprehensive free trade agreement. These discussions were the starting point of a process that would ultimately see the signing of the Canada –United States Free Trade Agreement on October 4,1988.
Thomas Francis Bayard was an American lawyer,politician and diplomat from Wilmington,Delaware. A Democrat,he served three terms as the United States Senator from Delaware and made three unsuccessful bids for the Democratic nomination for President of the United States. In 1885,President Grover Cleveland appointed him Secretary of State. After four years in private life,he returned to the diplomatic arena as Ambassador to Great Britain.

Prior to her Senate tenure,Moseley Braun was a member of the Illinois House of Representatives from 1979 to 1988 and served as Cook County Recorder of Deeds from 1988 to 1992. She was elected to the U.S. Senate in 1992 after defeating Senator Alan J. Dixon in a Democratic primary. Moseley Braun served one term in the Senate and was defeated by Republican Peter Fitzgerald in 1998.
Clayton Keith Yeutter,ONZM was an American politician who served as United States secretary of agriculture under President George H. W. Bush from 1989 to 1991 before serving as counselor to the president in 1992. He served as United States trade representative from 1985 to 1989 and as chairman for the Republican National Committee from 1991 until 1992. Yeutter was employed as a senior advisor at the international law firm Hogan Lovells in Washington,D.C. He additionally founded the Clayton Yeutter Institute of International Trade and Finance at his alma mater,the University of Nebraska–Lincoln.
