Paulette Veste (born 24 February 1928) is a French former athlete, who specialised in the shot put and the discus throw.
Veste was born in Lespesses. She took fourth in the shot put [1] and tenth in the discus throw during the 1948 Olympics at London. Four years later, at the 1952 Olympics at Helsinki, she took ninth in the shot put and the sixteenth place in the discus throw. Veste won three French national titles in the shot put (1949, 1952 and 1953) and three French national titles in the discus throw(1948, 1951 and 1952). She twice improved the French discus record, bringing it to 38.83m and 40.95m in 1948.

Micheline Ostermeyer was a French athlete and concert pianist. She won three medals at the 1948 Summer Olympics in shot put, discus throw, and high jump. After retiring from sports in 1950, she became a full-time pianist for fifteen years and then turned to teaching afterwards.

James Emanuel Fuchs was an American communications executive and athlete who competed in the discus throw and shot put. Track and Field News rated him the number one shotputter in the world in the 1949-50 seasons. He developed a new shot-putting technique to compensate for a leg injury, and then used what he called "the sideways glide" to set world records and dominate the sport over a two-year span in the early 1950s. He won bronze medals in shot put at both the 1948 Summer Olympics in London and the 1952 Summer Olympics in Helsinki.
Adolfo Consolini was an Italian discus thrower. He competed at the 1948, 1952, 1956 and 1960 Olympics and finished in 1st, 2nd, 6th and 17 place, respectively. While winning the gold medal in 1948 he set an Olympic record at 52.78 m. Consolini won three European titles, in 1946, 1950 and 1954, and 15 national titles.
Margaret "Meg" Elizabeth Stone is a retired Scottish discus thrower and Shot putter. She reached the Olympic finals at discus in Moscow 1980 (9th) and Los Angeles 1984 (5th). She also won the 1982 Commonwealth Games title. Her discus best of 67.48 metres has stood as the British record since 1981, while her shot put best of 18.99 metres has stood as the Scottish record since 1983.
