Pavarotti & Friends for the Children of Bosnia is a live Luciano Pavarotti album released on Decca Records in 1995.
Between 1992 and 2003 Luciano Pavarotti hosted 10 concerts at Parco Novi Sad in Modena, Italy. These events were known as Pavarotti & Friends and were in support of humanitarian causes. For the most part Pavarotti invited non opera singers to sing with him which resulted in a very innovative and well received collaboration between Pavarotti and popular popstars. Pavarotti donated the proceeds from some of these concerts to Afghan, Angolan and Iraqi refugees. [1] [2] In 1995 the concert was for the children of Bosnia affected by the war. The event featured artists such as Meat Loaf and Bono, the Edge and Brian Eno (performing as Passengers) and was attended by Diana, Princess of Wales. Bono and Edge played the live debut of Miss Sarajevo. [3] Proceeds from this concert were used to help build the Pavarotti Music Center in Mostar. [4] [5]

Original Soundtracks 1 is a studio album recorded by rock band U2 and Brian Eno under the pseudonym Passengers as a side project. The PopMart Tour was a worldwide concert tour by rock band U2. Staged in support of the group's 1997 album Pop, the tour's concerts were performed in stadiums and parks in 1997 and 1998. Much like the band's previous Zoo TV Tour, PopMart was an elaborate production. Its lavish stage design had a 165-foot-wide (50 m) LED screen, a 100-foot-high (30 m) golden arch, and a large mirror-ball lemon. As with the Zoo TV Tour, the band delivered an image and performance that were ironic and self-mocking on PopMart, deviating from their earnest performances of the 1980s; the band performed in costumes that, along with the stage design, poked fun at the themes of consumerism and pop culture.

It is the opening track from their 1991 album Achtung Baby, a record on which the group reinvented themselves musically by incorporating influences from alternative rock, industrial, and electronic dance music. As the album's opening track, "Zoo Station" introduces the band's new sound, delivering industrial-influenced percussion and several layers of distorted guitars and vocals. Similarly, the lyrics suggest the group's new intents and anticipations. The introduction, featuring an "explosion" of percussion and a descending glissando for a guitar hook, was meant to make the listener think the album was mistakenly not U2's latest record or that their music player was broken.
A Year with Swollen Appendices is a book by Brian Eno. The paperback book was published by Faber and Faber in 1996 and is divided into two sections. The first part is a diary covering the year 1995, the second part, the 'swollen appendices' of the title is a collection of essays, short stories and correspondence. It was re-released with a new introduction by the author in 2021.

On 23 September 1997, Irish rock band U2 performed at Koševo Stadium in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, as part of the group's PopMart Tour. They were the first major artist to hold a concert in the city after the end of the Bosnian War in 1995. Approximately 45,000 fans attended the show.
Pavarotti Music Centre is a non-profit arts institution located in Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina. It was opened on 21 December 1997 and its premises are located in a former primary school. It was funded entirely by War Child thanks to a number of concerts organized by Luciano Pavarotti, Brian Eno, members of U2 and other artists. The center provides music education for young people and other services, such as workshops, dance classes, and theatre performances. The Centre is housed within a building constructed in 1908 during the Austrian-Hungarian period according to the project of architect D. Knezic.

Songs of Surrender is an album of re-recorded songs by Irish rock band U2. Produced by guitarist the Edge, it was released on 17 March 2023 on Island Records and Interscope Records. Largely the effort of the Edge and lead vocalist Bono, the album comprises re-recorded and reinterpreted versions of 40 songs from the group's back catalogue, many in stripped-down and acoustic arrangements. The album is a companion to Bono's memoir, Surrender: 40 Songs, One Story (2022), which was structured into 40 chapters titled after U2 songs. Rearranged versions of the songs were first included in the audiobook edition of the memoir, and were performed by Bono during the book's promotional tour.
