Pawan is an Indian actor who has appeared in Tamil, Malayalam and Telugu films. He made his debut in Raasi , supporting role in Thimiru , before playing leading roles in Sengathu Bhoomiyilae and Thagaraaru .

Career

Pawan ventured into Tamil films by playing Out in Vetrimaaran's Polladhavan before starring as a police officer trying to outwit Nakul in Manohar's 2009 comedy Maasilamani , with both film going on to become successful ventures. He also played the villain role in the Vijay-starrer Kuruvi (2008), with his work for the film preventing him from accepting offers for roles in Aegan and Silambattam . [1]

Pawan next featured in Rathnakumar's family drama film Sengathu Bhoomiyilae (2012) as the film's lead character but the film met with a low key release and mixed reviews. [2] He then appeared as one of the four lead actors in Thagaraaru (2013) alongside Arulnithi, Tarun Shatriya and Aadukalam Murugadoss, winning critical acclaim for his performance. [3] [4] Pawan also appeared in a small role in the Ajith Kumar starrer Veeram (2014) portraying the role of the murdered son of the character played by Nassar. He starred in Vetrimaaran's Vada Chennai (2018) and Asuran (2019). [5]

<i>Visaranai</i> 2015 Indian film

Visaranai is a 2016 Indian Tamil-language crime drama film written and directed by Vetrimaaran. It is based on the novel Lock Up by M. Chandrakumar. The film stars Dinesh, Anandhi, Samuthirakani, Aadukalam Murugadoss, Kishore, Pradheesh Raj, and Silambarasan Rathnasamy. The film deals with lives of two men before and after thrown into a kafkaesque scenario in which they get tortured for confession. Vetrimaaran later told that, in the beating sequences in film, the actors were really beaten, and all of them had to undergo counselling sessions.

Vijay is an Indian actor who works in Tamil cinema. He made his cinematic debut in 1984 with Vetri, directed by his father, Chandrasekhar. Viduthalai is a 2023 Indian Tamil-language period crime thriller film directed and co-produced by Vetrimaaran, who co-wrote the screenplay with B. Jeyamohan, under Grass Root Film Company and RS Infotainment. It is the first of a two-part adaptation of the short story Thunaivan (transl. Companion) by Jeyamohan. Set in 1987, the film follows a constable, who is recruited to arrest the leader of a separatist group. The ensemble cast includes Soori, Vijay Sethupathi, Bhavani Sre, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Rajiv Menon, Ilavarasu, Balaji Sakthivel, Saravana Subbiah, Chetan, Munnar Ramesh, and Pavel Navageethan.
