The film stars Joaquin Phoenix as the title character, and also includes a supporting ensemble cast consisting of Patti LuPone, Nathan Lane, Amy Ryan, Kylie Rogers, Parker Posey, Stephen McKinley Henderson, Hayley Squires, Michael Gandolfini, Zoe Lister-Jones, Armen Nahapetian, and Richard Kind. Its plot follows the mild-mannered but paranoia-ridden Beau as he embarks on a surreal odyssey to get home to his mother, realizing his greatest fears along the way.

The film's original score is written and composed by Bobby Krlic whom he collaborated with Aster in Midsommar (2019). The score was released by A24 Music on April 14, 2023.
Midsommar (Original Motion Picture Score) is the soundtrack to the 2019 film of the same name. It contains the instrumental score for the film, written, composed and produced by electronic and industrial musician The Haxan Cloak, who was credited under his real name Bobby Krlic. Krlic researched various elements related to traditional folk from Nordic countries and experimented with various instrumentation, from traditional orchestra to electronic music.
Eddington is an upcoming American contemporary Western black comedy film written and directed by Ari Aster, with Joaquin Phoenix, Pedro Pascal, Emma Stone, Luke Grimes, Austin Butler, Deirdre O'Connell, Micheal Ward and Clifton Collins Jr. set to star. The film is being distributed by A24, who will co-produce the movie with Square Peg. It currently has no set release date.
