Jafet Penda Ya Ndakolo (born 23 March 1960 at Oshigambo) is a Namibian SWAPO politician and current governor of Oshikoto Region. He served as Minister of Defence from 2015 to 2020. After losing his position as minister in 2020 he was appointed to his old position as governor again. [1]
Ya Ndakolo fought for the Peoples Liberation Army of Namibia (PLAN). [2] He studied at the Eastern and Southern Management Institute (ESAMA),and was from 1980 to 1989 a specialist in radio communication warfare.
He was a SWAPO district coordinator between 1990 and 1992 before getting elected as Regional Councillor for Omuthiya Gwiipundi Constituency in Oshikoto Region,eventually being elevated as the Region's governor. He replaced Nico Kaiyamo as a member of the National Council in 2004.
In 2014,he was awarded The Most Distinguished Order of Namibia:First Class by president Hifikepunye Pohamba. [3]
The South West Africa People’s Organisation,officially known as the SWAPO Party of Namibia,is a political party and former independence movement in Namibia. Founded in 1960,it has been the governing party in Namibia since the country achieved independence in 1990. The party continues to be dominated in number and influence by the Ovambo ethnic group.

He was succeeded by Hage Geingob in a cabinet reshuffle after the 2012 SWAPO Party congress. He subsequently served as Minister of Defence from 2012 to 2015.

Hosea Nico Kaiyamo is a Namibian politician and businessman who was the first Regional Councillor for the Tsumeb Constituency and a member of parliament in the National Council. He was an activist for South-West Africa People's Organisation (SWAPO) in its long struggle against South African rule until Namibia obtained independence on 21 March 1990. He was elected Regional Councillor for the Tsumeb Constituency in 1993 and remained in office until 2003. He was a member of parliament in the National Council from 1993 to 2003.

Peter Hafeni Vilho is a Namibian politician and retired rear admiral who is a member of the Parliament of Namibia,a former Minister of Defence,and a former commander of the Namibian Navy. He was appointed the commander of the maritime wing of the Namibian Defence Force in 2002. In September 2017 he was appointed as executive director of the Ministry of Defence. In March 2020,Namibian president Hage Geingob appointed Vilho as the Minister of Defense and Veteran Affairs. Vilho served until his resignation in April 2021 after allegations of holding an undeclared bank account.
Phillemon Ndjambula born is a Namibian former Member of the National Council (Namibia) for Oshikoto Region in 1998 to 2010,he was also the first Regional Councillor for the Olukonda Constituency in 1992. Ndjambula attended Primary education at Onezizi Combined School and later on completed grade 12 at Andimba Toivo ya Toivo Senior Secondary School formerly in 1975.
