The South West Africa People’s Organisation,officially known as the SWAPO Party of Namibia,is a political party and former independence movement in Namibia. Founded in 1960,it has been the governing party in Namibia since the country achieved independence in 1990. The party continues to be dominated in number and influence by the Ovambo ethnic group.
Oshikoto is one of the fourteen regions of Namibia,named after Lake Otjikoto. Its capital is Omuthiya. The city of Tsumeb,Otjikoto's capital until 2008,and the towns of Omuthiya and Oniipa are also situated in this region. As of 2020,Oshikoto had 112,170 registered voters.

As of 2020,Kunene had 58,548 registered voters.
Nahas Gideon Angula (born 22 August 1943 is a Namibian politician who served as the third Prime Minister of Namibia from 21 March 2005 to 4 December 2012. He was succeeded by Hage Geingob in a cabinet reshuffle after the 2012 SWAPO Party congress. He subsequently served as Minister of Defence from 2012 to 2015.
Nangolo Mbumba is a Namibian politician who currently serves as the 2nd vice president of Namibia.
Jesaya Nyamu is a Namibian politician. A member of the Rally for Democracy and Progress (RDP),he was a high level member of the South West Africa People's Organization (SWAPO) from 1964,when he fled into exile,until 2002,when he was expelled from the party for "disobedience". Henock Tangeni Kankoshi,is a Namibian politician. He served as governor of Oshikoto Region,succeeding Penda Ya Ndakolo in 2015. When his term ended in April 2020,Ya Ndakolo became Oshikoto governor again.
Hosea Nico Kaiyamo is a Namibian politician and businessman who was the first Regional Councillor for the Tsumeb Constituency and a member of parliament in the National Council. He was an activist for South-West Africa People's Organisation (SWAPO) in its long struggle against South African rule until Namibia obtained independence on 21 March 1990. He was elected Regional Councillor for the Tsumeb Constituency in 1993 and remained in office until 2003. He was a member of parliament in the National Council from 1993 to 2003.

Philemon Malima is a Namibian politician and diplomat who was the chief of intelligence service of Namibia Central Intelligence Service from 2015 to 2020. Malima has been a member of the Cabinet of Namibia since March 1990 and has served as minister responsible for various ministries since independence.
Sophia Shaningwa is a Namibian politician,currently serving as Secretary General of the SWAPO party of Namibia. She previously served as Minister for Urban and Rural Development from 21 March 2015 to February 2018 in President Hage Geingob's administration. In 2017 Shaningwa was elected the Secretary-General of the Swapo Party.
Peter Hafeni Vilho is a Namibian politician and retired rear admiral who is a member of the Parliament of Namibia,a former Minister of Defence,and a former commander of the Namibian Navy. He was appointed the commander of the maritime wing of the Namibian Defence Force in 2002. In September 2017 he was appointed as executive director of the Ministry of Defence. In March 2020,Namibian president Hage Geingob appointed Vilho as the Minister of Defense and Veteran Affairs. Vilho served until his resignation in April 2021 after allegations of holding an undeclared bank account.
Phillemon Ndjambula born is a Namibian former Member of the National Council (Namibia) for Oshikoto Region in 1998 to 2010,he was also the first Regional Councillor for the Olukonda Constituency in 1992. Ndjambula attended Primary education at Onezizi Combined School and later on completed grade 12 at Andimba Toivo ya Toivo Senior Secondary School formerly in 1975.
Sisa Namandje is a Namibian lawyer prominent for representing high profile namibian figures. He has represented all three Namibian presidents Sam Nujoma,Hifikepunye Pohamba and Hage Geingob.
Ester-Anna-Liisa Shiwomwenyo Nghipondoka is a Namibian politician and member of SWAPO. She was appointed the Minister of Education,Arts and Culture in March 2020 by president Hage Geingob. She served as Deputy Minister of Education,Arts and Culture from 2015 to 2020.
