People's Ukrainian Academy is a private institution of higher education in Kharkiv. Despite its full name (The Kharkiv University of Humanities' "People's Ukrainian Academy"), it is not affiliated with the University of Kharkiv.
KhUH “PUA” buildings are located in the center of Kharkiv. There is a library with reading halls and more than 160,000 books and periodicals. Within the Center of Information in Science and Humanities there is Media Library, Internet facilities, and a specialized education library. There are also sports and assembly halls, fitness and gymnastic halls, and a sports ground.
In the complex structure, there is a medical service that has dental, physiotherapy, and massage rooms. An agreement with city student hospital is signed where faculty and students are served.
The students’ trade union and students union have their own places. The Fireplace Hall was put into operation for conducting cultural events.[ citation needed ]

Kyiv University or Shevchenko University or officially the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, colloquially known as KNU, is located in Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine. The university is recognized as the most prestigious university of Ukraine, being the largest national higher education institution. KNU is ranked within top 650 universities in the world. It is the third oldest university in Ukraine after the University of Lviv and University of Kharkiv. Currently, its structure consists of fifteen faculties and five institutes. It was founded in 1834 by the Russian Tsar Nikolai I as the Saint Vladimir Imperial University of Kiev, and since then it has changed its name several times. During the Soviet Union era, Kiev State University was one of the top-three universities in the USSR, along with Moscow State University and Leningrad State University. It is ranked as the best university in Ukraine in many rankings. Throughout history, the university has produced many famous alumni including Mykola Lysenko, Nikolay Bunge, Mykhailo Drahomanov, Mykhailo Hrushevskyi, Nikolai Berdyaev, Mikhail Bulgakov, Ivan Schmalhausen, Theodosius Dobzhansky, Viacheslav Chornovil, Leonid Kravchuk, and many others. Taras Shevchenko himself, banned from educational activities for political reasons, worked for the university as a field researcher.

Cherkasy National University or officially The Bohdan Khmelnytsky National University of Cherkasy is located in Cherkasy. It is one of the leading universities of Ukraine. More than 95 years old, it has more than 6,000 students that acquire 54 specialties. Currently, its structure consists of eight institutes and two faculties. The university was named after Ukrainian Hetman Bohdan Khmelnytsky who was born in Cherkasy region.
