Pepetua Election Latasi is a Tuvaluan civil servant. She is the Director for Climate Change and Disaster Coordinator under the Office of the Prime Minister of Tuvalu. [1] Her position involves working with the climate change policy of Tuvalu and serving as the country's representative in climate change negotiation abroad. [2]
Latasi began her career in Tuvalu's Department of Environment, where she worked for ten years before becoming Director of Department of Climate Change and Disaster. [2] After temporarily taking a break from this work, she obtained an undergraduate degree in climate change policy and environment management in 2008. She later chaired the United Nations Least Developed Countries Expert Group, a twelve-member committee established by the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, [3] and co-chaired the Executive Committee on the Warsaw International Mechanism for Loss and Damage [4] with Shereen D'Souza of the United States. [5] At the 2015 United Nations Climate Change Conference, she served as the Chief Negotiator for Tuvalu. [4]

The Pacific Islands Forum (PIF) is an inter-governmental organization that aims to enhance cooperation among countries and territories of Oceania, including formation of a trade bloc and regional peacekeeping operations. It was founded in 1971 as the South Pacific Forum (SPF), and changed its name in 1999 to "Pacific Islands Forum", so as to be more inclusive of the Forum's Oceania-spanning membership of both north and south Pacific island countries, including Australia. It is a United Nations General Assembly observer.

The Western and Central Pacific Fisheries Commission (WCPFC) is both a general and a tuna regional fisheries management organisation established to conserve and manage tuna and other highly migratory fish stocks across the western and central areas of the Pacific Ocean. Climate change is particularly threatening for the long-term habitability of the island country of Tuvalu, which has a land area of only 26 square kilometres (10 sq mi) and an average elevation of less than 2 metres (6.6 ft) above sea level, with the highest point of Niulakita being about 4.6 metres (15 ft) above sea level. Potential threats to the country due to climate change include rising sea levels, increasingly severe tropical cyclones, high temperatures, and drought. King tides can combine with storm surges and the rising sea level to inundate the low lying atolls.
Karen Christiana Figueres Olsen is a Costa Rican diplomat who has led national, international and multilateral policy negotiations. She was appointed Executive Secretary of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) in July 2010, six months after the failed COP15 in Copenhagen. During the next six years she worked to rebuild the global climate change negotiating process, leading to the 2015 Paris Agreement, widely recognized as a historic achievement.

The women of Tuvalu participate in the traditional music of Tuvalu and in the creation of the art of Tuvalu including using cowrie and other shells in traditional handicrafts. There are opportunities of further education and paid employment with non-government organisations (NGOs) and government enterprises, education and health agencies being the primary opportunities for Tuvaluan women.
The Tuvalu Meteorological Service (TMS) is the principal meteorological observatory of Tuvalu and is responsible for providing weather services to the islands of Tuvalu. A meteorological office was established on Funafuti at the time the islands of Tuvalu were administered as parts of the Gilbert and Ellice Islands colony of the United Kingdom. The meteorological office is now an agency of the government of Tuvalu.
Nese Ituaso-Conway is a public servant in Tuvalu. She was the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Public Works in 2020 and was the Permanent Secretary of the Office of the Prime Minister of Tuvalu in 2018. She was previously the Director of Public Health at Princess Margaret Hospital (Funafuti), which operates satellite health clinics on each of the 9 Islands of Tuvalu. Dr Nese Ituaso-Conway and Dr Miliama Simeona were the first Tuvaluan female doctors.

Simon Kofe is a Tuvaluan politician. He was appointed as the Minister for Justice, Communication & Foreign Affairs, in the cabinet of Kausea Natano following the 2019 Tuvaluan general election.
Sustainable Development Goal 13 is to limit and adapt to climate change. It is one of 17 Sustainable Development Goals established by the United Nations General Assembly in 2015. The official mission statement of this goal is to "Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts". SDG 13 and SDG 7 on clean energy are closely related and complementary.
