Performing arts of Slovenia are shaped by a number of Slovenian actors and actresses, dancers, theatre directors, and theatre managers. Several professional and a number of amateur community theatres operate on the repertory system in Slovenia.

The national theatres

There are four national theatres in Slovenia that include the Ljubljana National Drama Theatre and Slovene National Theatre Opera and Ballet Company, both located in Ljubljana; the Maribor National Drama Theatre, located in Maribor; and Slovenian Littoral National Theatre, located in Nova Gorica.

Other professional theatres

Founded in 1949, Ljubljana City Theatre (Mestno Gledalisce Ljubljansko MGL) is the second largest drama theatre in Slovenia. Founded in 1955 as the first professional theatre for children and youth in Slovenia was the Slovenian Youth Theatre. Established in 1948, the Ljubljana Puppet Theatre, located in Ljubljana, is a puppet repertory theatre. [1]

Established in 2011, the Koper Theatre, located in Koper, is the second youngest professional theatre in Slovenia. [2]

Other professional theatres include Glej Theatre., [3] Preseren Theatre Kranj (Presernovo gledalisce Kranj), Celje City Theatre (Slovensko Ljudsko Gledalisce Celje SLG), Maribor Puppet Theatre (Lutkovno Gledalisce Maribor).

The 2009–10 Slovenian PrvaLiga was the 19th season of top-tier football in Slovenia. The season began on 18 July 2009 and finished in May 2010. Koper won the league for the first time.

The 2010–11 Slovenian Football Cup was the 20th season of the Slovenian Football Cup, Slovenia's football knockout competition. Maribor were the defending champions, having won their sixth Slovenian Cup last season.

Slovenian Junior League

The Slovenian Junior League, also known by the abbreviation 1. SML, is the top level of Slovenian youth football in its age category. The league is contested among the under-19 sides of Slovenian football clubs and is governed by the Football Association of Slovenia. Maribor is the most successful team with seven championships.

Ljubljana City Theatre is the second theatre building and company of Ljubljana after the Ljubljana branch of the Slovene National Theatre.

Ljubljana Slovene National Theatre Opera and Ballet

The Ljubljana Slovene National Theatre Opera and Ballet, or shortly Ljubljana SNG Opera and Ballet, is Slovenia's national opera and ballet company. Its seat is the Ljubljana Opera House at 1 Župančič Street in Ljubljana. The Ljubljana Slovene National Theatre Opera and Ballet was founded in 1918. It is now a subsection of the Slovene National Drama Theatre in Ljubljana (Slovensko narodno gledališče and has about 50 dancers. Since 2013, its director has been the lawyer Peter Sotošek Štular, and its artistic director the opera stage director Rocc.

2011–12 Slovenian Football Cup football tournament season

The 2011–12 Slovenian Football Cup was the 21st season of the Slovenian Football Cup, Slovenia's football knockout competition. Domžale were the defending champions, having won their first Slovenian Cup last season.

The 2010–11 season was the 51st season in the history of NK Maribor and the club's 20th consecutive season in the Slovenian PrvaLiga since the league establishment in 1991. The team participated in the Slovenian PrvaLiga, Slovenian Football Cup, and UEFA Europa League. The season covers the period from 1 June 2010 to 31 May 2011. The club started and finished the season with Darko Milanič as a head coach and were crowned as the league champions for the ninth time. They were also runners up of the Slovenian cup and supercup.

Alen Jelen is Slovenian theatre director, radio director, dramaturge, actor in Ljubljana, Slovenia. He is born 1970 in Maribor and lives and works in Ljubljana.

The 2012–13 season was the 53rd season in the history of NK Maribor and the club's 22nd consecutive season in the Slovenian PrvaLiga since the league establishment in 1991. The team participated in the Slovenian PrvaLiga, Slovenian Football Cup, UEFA Champions League, and UEFA Europa League. The season covers the period from 1 June 2012 to 31 May 2013. Darko Milanič was a head coach of the club.

The 2013–14 Slovenian Football Cup was the 23rd season of the Slovenian Football Cup, Slovenia's football knockout competition.

The 2014–15 Slovenian Football Cup was the 24th season of the Slovenian Football Cup, Slovenia's football knockout competition. Gorica were the defending champions, having won their third cup title in the 2013–14 edition.

The 2019–20 Slovenian Football Cup was the 29th edition of the football knockout competition in Slovenia. The winners of the cup, Mura, earned a place in the 2020–21 UEFA Europa League. The tournament began on 14 August 2019.
