About Permias
Sometimes Permias is also called ISA, which stands for Indonesian Student Association (equivalent to PPI [1] - Persatuan Pelajar Indonesia - which is the organization that unites Indonesian college students in other countries such as in the United Kingdom). The difference usually is that ISA only accepting members from certain institutes / universities, whereas Permias is more loosely accepting members from schools within the region - and sometimes even non-students like alumni.
Every Permias chapter stands for itself and rarely has any ties with other Permias groups except for the Permias National Chapter. The Permias National Chapter is the head of all the regional Permias Chapter. The representatives of each Permias Chapter is encouraged to meet in the Permias National Congress which is scheduled to happen every 2–3 years. The first National Congress was the Congress of Indonesian Diaspora.
Unfortunately, due to the decreasing amount of Indonesian Student Population in the United States, Permias National have some inconsistency of holding the National Congress. The decline of the student population is mostly caused by the financial crisis in 1998/1999. However, the trend today shows a constant increase Indonesian Student Population. In 2011/2012 academic year, there are about 7,131 Indonesian Students in the United States. Although, it looks like an increasing number, it is still far from the peak number of Indonesian Students during the 1997/1998 academic year that is 13,828 students. The current growth of Indonesian student population is said to be about 2.7%/ year.
The first National Congress did after the long hiatus was on May 25, 2013, in Washington D.C. called the Permias Congress 2013. The following National Congress was held on May 23, 2015 in New York City.
Another big event held by Permias National is the Permias National Cup. The Permias National Cup is a sports event where each region (east, west, midwest) of Permias chapters competes against each other in Basketball and Soccer Tournaments. The winner from each region (1st and 2nd winner) get to compete in the Permias National Cup. The first Permias National Cup was held in Chicago in 2014. The teams that compete in the Basketball Tournament were Madison, Purdue, Chicago, Massachusetts, Los Angeles, Seattle and New York City. For the Futsal Tournament, there were Penn State, Purdue, Chicago & Milwaukee, Urbana-Champaign, Massachusetts, Los Angeles, DC, Seattle and New York City. The next Permias National Cup will be held in around February 2016 at Seattle.
There is no exact data on how many Permias / ISA are in U.S., as there is no annual meeting between local organizations' officers or the like. Some of them have their own student-maintained websites, some used to have one, and some don't have the manpower to create one.

Acacia Fraternity, Inc. is a social fraternity founded in 1904 at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The fraternity has 27 active chapters and 3 associate chapters throughout Canada and the United States. The fraternity was founded by undergraduate Freemasons and was originally open only to men who had taken the Masonic obligations, but in 1933 the International Conclave elected to dispense with the Masonic prerequisite. In 1988, at the 45th Conclave, the fraternity elected to use "International" rather than "National" when referring to the fraternity.

The Illinois Men's Volleyball Club is a registered student organization at the University of Illinois that plays men's volleyball. This team is composed of students from the University of Illinois and is designated as a club team because the University does not have a varsity men's volleyball team. The club is based at the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign and is a member of the Midwest Intercollegiate Volleyball Association. The club is divided into three teams divided according to level of competitiveness. All teams in the club compete only in tournaments and there are no lone matches unless they are specially scheduled. The Illinois Men's Volleyball Club was established in 1984 and quickly became one of the top collegiate men's club volleyball teams in the nation. The team has been ranked among the top ten club teams in the nation since 1997. The club placed third in the nation in 2003, 2005, and 2007 and second in 2004. Additionally, the Illinois Men's Volleyball Club hosts an annual tournament in Champaign, Illinois called the Illini 16 and co-hosts the Hoosier-Illini Classic with Indiana University. Additionally, the club hosted an exhibition match for the Blue and Orange teams for the first time in 2008. The Blue team played Purdue University while the Orange team played Illinois State University.

The 2014 United States House of Representatives elections in Illinois were held on Tuesday, November 4, 2014 to elect the 18 U.S. representatives from the state of Illinois, one from each of the state's 18 congressional districts. The elections coincided with the elections of other federal and state offices, including Governor of Illinois and United States Senate. The GOP gained two seats in this election, one in the 10th district with the election of Bob Dold in a rematch with incumbent Brad Schneider, and one in the 12th district with the election of Mike Bost over incumbent William Enyart. The gains narrowed the Democrat margin to 10-8 in the delegation.
