Martin Edward Dempsey, sometimes known as Marty Dempsey, is a retired United States Army general who served as the 18th chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff from October 1, 2011 until September 25, 2015. He previously served as the 37th chief of Staff of the Army from April 11, 2011, to September 7, 2011. Before that, he served as Commanding General, U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command, from December 8, 2008, to April 11, 2011, as Acting Commander, U.S. Central Command, from March 24, 2008, to October 30, 2008, as Deputy Commander, U.S. Central Command, from August 2007 to March 23, 2008, and as Commanding General, Multi-National Security Transition Command – Iraq (MNSTC-I), from August 2005 to August 2007. Dempsey assumed his assignment as Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff on October 1, 2011 and stepped down from the Chairmanship on September 25, 2015. He has served as a professor at Duke University and as chair of USA Basketball.
Peter Jan Schoomaker is a retired four-star general of the United States Army who served as the 35th Chief of Staff of the United States Army from August 1, 2003 to April 10, 2007. Schoomaker's appointment as Chief of Staff was unusual in that he was recalled and came out from retirement to assume the position. Schoomaker voluntarily retired from the Army for the second time in 2007 after completing the full four-year term as Chief of Staff.

He concurrently served as the commander of United Nations Command and commander of R.O.K.-U.S. Combined Forces Command. He previously served as the 22nd commanding general of United States Army Forces Command from August 10, 2015 to October 17, 2018. He is a 1982 graduate of the United States Military Academy where he was commissioned as an armor officer. During his years of active service, he has held command and staff positions across the Army and joint community in Germany, the United States, Southwest Asia and South Korea. Abrams comes from a family of career military officers. His father was former Army Chief of Staff General Creighton W. Abrams Jr., and both of his elder brothers, Creighton and John, were Army general officers.
John Francis Campbell is a retired United States Army general who was commander of the Resolute Support Mission and United States Forces – Afghanistan. He was the 16th and last commander of the International Security Assistance Force. Prior to this, he served as the 34th Vice Chief of Staff of the United States Army. He is currently a member of the board of directors of IAP, and BAE Systems, and serves on the advisory board of Code of Support Foundation.
Charles Thomas Cleveland is a retired United States Army Lieutenant General who was the commander of the United States Army Special Operations Command (2012-15). He is a graduate of the United States Military Academy, class of 1978. He previously served as commanding officer of the US Army 10th Special Forces Group from 2001 to 2003 where he led the initial invasion into northern Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom. He served as Chief of Staff, and as Deputy Commander of the Army Special Operations Command followed by duty as commander of Special Operations Command South from 2005 to 2008. Cleveland served as Special Operations Command Central from 2008 to 2011. He retired from the U.S. Army in August 2015.
Gustave F. Perna is a retired United States Army four-star general who last served as the chief operating officer of the federal COVID-19 response for vaccine and therapeutics. He previously served as the chief operating officer of Operation Warp Speed from July 2020 until the operation's duties and responsibilities were transferred to the White House COVID-19 Response Team in February 2021. As chief operating officer of COVID-19 response, he oversaw the logistics in the United States federal government's distribution of the vaccine to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Senate confirmed his nomination as chief operating officer on July 2, 2020, and he assumed the office shortly after.

Waldhauser is an alumnus of Bemidji State University.

Michael D. Lundy is a retired United States Army lieutenant general. He last served as commanding general of the United States Army Combined Arms Center, dual-hatted as commandant of the United States Army Command and General Staff College, deputy commanding for combined arms of the United States Army Training and Doctrine Command and commanding general of Fort Leavenworth from June 1, 2016 to December 16, 2019. He previously served as commanding general of the United States Army Aviation Center of Excellence and Fort Rucker from March 2014 to April 2016. He retired in 2020 after 33 years of distinguished service.
