Persatuan Sepakbola Sinabang Kota Simeulue (simply known as Persikota Simeulue) is an Indonesian football club based in Sinabang, Simeulue Regency, Aceh. They compete in the Liga 4 Aceh zone.
Founded on 12 October 1985 in Sinabang, Simeulue Island, an outermost island in the western part of Aceh province, 175 miles from Meulaboh, West Aceh Regency. The initial formation was initiated and supported by a group of local youths, even though they had very minimal infrastructure at that time and were still part of West Aceh Regency.
The initial pioneer, namely Zainal Abidin (a coach who also serves as a manager), recruited and trained Sinabang youth (middle school, high school, and former students) in the BON Kota club with limited funds to try to enter football in Aceh, especially through the 1985 Tripartite Game event (Persabar West Aceh, BON Kota, and POSKA), and away matches held with Persiraja Banda Aceh and PS Sabang.
This club is the one forerunner to the PS Simeulue establishment, which is a club affiliated with the PSSI Simeulue Regency. Then they decided to register as members of the Aceh PSSI Provincial Association under the name BON Kota. Based on information from the initial founder of this club was as Persatuan Sepakbola Sinabang Putra (PSSP) until it changed its name to Persikota Simeulue in 2003. [1]
The competitions that the club has participated in up to present are amateur and unofficial competitions that are not by PSSI, although registered as members. The following is a list of their participation: [2]
