Pete Chryplewicz (born April 27, 1974) is a former American football tight end who played in the National Football League (NFL) for the Detroit Lions.
Chryplewicz attended high school at Sterling Heights Stevenson High School in Sterling Heights, Michigan. He was named Michigan's top high school football recruit in 1991. [1]
Chryplewicz was part of the inaugural hall of fame class for Aldai E. Stevenson High School. He was inducted in a ceremony in September 2023. [2]
Chryplewicz played for the University of Notre Dame, where he had 48 catches and five touchdowns over five seasons. He sat out the 1994 season with a broken wrist, which allowed him the fifth season of eligibility. He was a named an honorable mention to the 1996 College Football All-America Team. [3]
Chryplewicz was drafted by the Detroit Lions in the fifth round (135th overall) of the 1997 NFL draft. [4] He played three seasons with the Lions, recording nine catches and three touchdowns.
Chryplewicz is fluent in Polish. [5] He now works in manufacturing sales. [6]

Richard Franklin Mirer is an American former professional football player who was a quarterback for 12 seasons in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and was selected by the Seattle Seahawks with the second overall pick of the 1993 NFL draft. In his first season, Mirer set the rookie records for passing yards, attempts, and completions. Unable to duplicate his success, however, Mirer was traded after four seasons to the Chicago Bears. He spent the remainder of his career with the New York Jets, San Francisco 49ers, Oakland Raiders, and Detroit Lions, mostly as a backup.

After his football career, Tate played baseball as a center fielder for the Port Angeles Lefties of the West Coast League (WCL) in 2022 after not playing the sport since 2009.
