Peter Putila (born 1989) is an American professional baseball executive who currently serves as the assistant general manager for the Atlanta Braves of Major League Baseball (MLB).
Putila is a native of Carmichaels,Pennsylvania. [1] He graduated from Carmichaels High School in 2007,after playing for the school's baseball team for four years. He enrolled at West Virginia University,where he was a student manager for the West Virginia Mountaineers baseball team and earned a degree in sport management. [2]
In 2011,his senior year at West Virginia,Putila became an intern for the Houston Astros. General manager Ed Wade hired Putila for a fulltime position in the baseball operations department. [1] [2] In 2019,the Astros promoted Putila to assistant general manager. [3]
On October 10,2022,following the departure of Scott Harris,the San Francisco Giants hired Putila as their general manager. [4]
On October 1,2024,following the firing of the Giants president of baseball operations,Farhan Zaidi,Buster Posey announced that Putila would not remain general manager and instead will have a new role within the organization. [5]
On November 4,2024,Putila was hired to serve as the assistant general manager for the Atlanta Braves. [6]

During his Dodgers tenure,he was a two-time All-Star,won two Silver Slugger Awards and a Gold Glove Award,and became the first NLCS MVP,which he received during the 1977 National League Championship Series. He also made three World Series appearances with the Dodgers,and was a member of the 1981 championship team.
Robert JoséWatson was an American professional baseball player,coach and general manager. He played in Major League Baseball as a first baseman and left fielder from 1966 to 1984,most prominently as a member of the Houston Astros where he was a two-time All-Star player. Watson had a .295 batting average over a career that also saw him play for the Boston Red Sox,New York Yankees,and the Atlanta Braves.
James Leroy Thomas was an American first baseman and right fielder,coach and front-office executive in Major League Baseball (MLB) who played for six teams from 1961 to 1968,most notably the Los Angeles Angels,then went on to a successful tenure as general manager of the Philadelphia Phillies. Traded to the Angels one month after the expansion franchise began play in 1961,he tied for third in Rookie of the Year voting after batting .285 with 24 home runs and 70 runs batted in (RBI),primarily playing in the outfield. The following year,he was named to the American League (AL) All-Star team after shifting to first base,and appeared in both All-Star games played that year as a pinch hitter and late-inning defensive replacement. He finished the year with career highs in batting (.290),home runs (26) and RBI (104),but a sharp decline in 1963 led to his being traded to the Boston Red Sox in mid-1964,the first of four trades before the 1968 season.
John Boland Schuerholz Jr. is an American baseball front office executive. He was the general manager of Major League Baseball's Atlanta Braves from 1990 to 2007,and then served as the Braves president for a decade from 2007 until 2016. Before joining Atlanta,he spent 22 years with the Kansas City Royals organization,including nine (1982–1990) as the club's general manager. Among the teams he built are the 1985 Royals and 1995 Braves,both World Series champions. His teams have also won their division 16 times,including 14 consecutive times in Atlanta. During his time with the Braves,they won five National League pennants and played in nine National League Championship series. He was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2017.

He was the senior vice president of baseball operations and general manager of the Toronto Blue Jays of Major League Baseball (MLB) from 2010 to 2015,for whom he began as a scouting coordinator in 2003. Prior to the Blue Jays,Anthopoulos got his start in professional baseball with the Montreal Expos organization in 2000. In 2015,he was named the Sporting News Executive of the Year after the Blue Jays advanced to the playoffs for the first time since 1993,reaching the American League Championship Series (ALCS). However,his term with the Blue Jays ended on October 29,2015,when he declined a five-year contract extension.
