Peter Boukouvalas (born 2 December 1998) is an Australian archer. He represented Australia in the 2024 Summer Olympic Games. He is currently ranked 68th in the world. [4]

Personal life

Boukouvalas discovered archery after he watched the 2004 Olympic Games on TV, but didn't begin his career in Archery until 2016 because of his commitments with competitive swimming. He trained with his coach Alex King in the Sydney Olympic Park Archery Centre. [2] He is of Greek origin. [7] Boukouvalas works as Station Master at St Peters railway station. [3]

Career

In 2018, Boukouvalas competed in the 2018 Asia Cup Stage 3, where he placed 17th. [2] He won gold in the 2021 Australian Open. [2] In 2022, he competed in stages one and three of the Archery world cup, placing 65th in both. [2] In 2023, he competed in the Archery World Championships, placing 33rd, and Stages one, two and four, of the Archery world cup, finishing 65th, 17th and 33rd respectively. [2] He also competed in the 2023 Pacific Games, winning silver for both the Archery Recurve –Single 720 Round 70m Male and Archery Recurve – Match Play Male events. [6] In 2024, Peter again competed in the Archery world cup stages one and two, placing 33rd in both. [2]

In 2024, Boukouvalas was selected to represent Australia in the 2024 Paris Olympics in the Archery team. He placed 60th in the Men's Individual ranking round, and placed =33rd overall, after being beaten 6-0 by Wooseok Lee in the Men's Individual 1/32 Elimination Round. [1]

Patrick Huston is a British two-time Olympian archer from Belfast, Northern Ireland. He captured three world championship titles under the youth level, and eventually competed as a member of the two person archery squad of Team GB at the 2016 Summer Olympics, in Rio, losing the first round match to the eventual champion Ku Bon-chan of South Korea. In the Tokyo 2020 Olympics his best result was a men's team 5th. Huston currently lives near Lilleshall National Sporting Centre and trained full-time under senior national coach Richard Priestman for Archery UK, while remaining a loyal founding member of East Belfast Archery Club. Mete Gazoz is a Turkish recurve archer. He won the gold medal in the men's individual event at the 2020 Summer Olympics held in Tokyo, Japan. He also represented Turkey at the 2016 Summer Olympics held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. In the 2023 World Archery Championships held in Berlin, Mete Gazoz emerged victorious, claiming the prestigious Individual title. In an intense final, he triumphed over the skilled Canadian archer Eric Peters, securing his place as the first Turkish archer to achieve the esteemed recurve gold medal in a World Championship.

Jonathon Milne is an Australian Paralympic archer. In April 2015 he won the National Para Championships, held in Melbourne. He represented Australia at the 2016 Rio Paralympics where he won a bronze medal. Milne won a bronze medal at the 2023 World Para Archery Championships. He competed at 2024 Paris Paralympics - his third Paralympics.

Alec Potts is an Australian competitive archer. He won a bronze medal in the men's team recurve at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.

The archery competitions at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris took place over seven days, from 25 July to 4 August, at Les Invalides. 128 archers competed across five events, with the mixed team recurve returning to the Olympic program for the second time.

Alex Wise is a British archer competing in recurve events. He was selected to compete at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
