Janos (Johann) Peter Weissmuller was an American competitive swimmer, Olympian, and actor. He was known for playing Edgar Rice Burroughs' Tarzan in Tarzan the Ape Man, five sequels produced by MGM, and six additional films by RKO. Weissmuller was also known for having one of the best competitive swimming records of the 20th century. Weissmuller set numerous world records alongside winning five gold medals in the Olympics. He won the 100m freestyle and the 4 × 200 m relay team event in 1924 at the Paris Games and again in 1928 at the Amsterdam Games. Gold was also brought home by Weissmuller in the 400m freestyle, as well as a bronze medal in the water polo competition in Paris.
Peter Cipollone is an American rower who was the coxswain of the 2004 Olympic gold medal-winning U.S. men's eight rowing team. He is a native of Ardmore, Pennsylvania, and attended Saint Joseph's Preparatory School in Philadelphia and the University of California, Berkeley. Cipollone won World Championships in the heavyweight men's eight in 1997, 1998, and 1999.

Charles Monroe Hoag was an American basketball player who competed in the 1952 Summer Olympics. Hoag was also an important player on the University of Kansas 1952 National Championship basketball team. He starred on the KU football team and baseball team while at KU as well.

College Boat Club of the University of Pennsylvania is the rowing program for University of Pennsylvania Rowing, located at #11 Boathouse Row in the historic Boathouse Row of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Its membership consists entirely of past and present rowers of the University of Pennsylvania. It hosts both heavyweight and lightweight varsity men's teams and an openweight varsity women's team. The Wharton Crew Team, however, rows out of Bachelors Barge Club at #6 Boathouse Row. College Boat Club was founded in 1872 by the school's students, shortly after the school's campus was relocated from Center City to West Philadelphia. College Boat Club was admitted to the Schuylkill Navy in 1875.

István Antal Szívós, also known as István Szívós Jr. was a Hungarian water polo player. He competed in four consecutive Olympics in 1968–1980 and won a medal in each of them, becoming one of eight male athletes who won four or more Olympic medals in water polo. He also won six gold or silver medals at world and European championships and nine national titles. Between 1966 and 1980 he played 308 international matches for Hungary. In 1996 he was inducted to the International Swimming Hall of Fame, one year earlier than his father István Sr., who won Olympic gold medals in water polo in 1952 and 1956.

Peter Augustus Rull Sr. was a sport shooter who represented Hong Kong at five editions of the Summer Olympic Games. He competed in the 50 metre rifle prone event each time, finishing 36th in 1960, 70th in 1964, 71st in 1968, 83rd in 1972, and joint-41st in 1976. He also took part in the 50 metre rifle three positions tournament in 1964, where he placed 49th. He was born in Estonia. He also took part in six editions of the Commonwealth Games, the last of which was in 1994, after which he retired from international competition. By career he was a shooting coach for the police and a land bailiff. His son, Peter Rull Jr., competed for Hong Kong as a sport shooter at the 1984 Summer Olympics.
