Peter Lomongin

Peter Lomongin (1944-2006) was an Anglican bishop in Uganda: [1] He was Bishop of Karamoja from 1987 until his death. [2]

Longmongin was educated at Uganda Christian University and ordained in 1973. He served in the Diocese of Soroti until 1976 when he became Archdeacon of Karamoja. [3]

The Oropom were the aboriginal inhabitants of much of Karamoja in Uganda, Mt. Elgon area and West Pokot, Trans Nzoia and Turkana regions in Kenya. Janet Museveni Ugandan politician

Janet Kainembabazi Museveni is a Ugandan politician who has been the First Lady of Uganda since 1986. She is married to President Yoweri Museveni, with whom she has four children. She has been Cabinet Minister of Education and Sports in the Ugandan Cabinet, since 6 June 2016. She previously served as Minister for Karamoja Affairs in the Cabinet of Uganda from 27 May 2011 until 6 June 2016. She also served as the elected Member of Parliament representing Ruhaama County in Ntungamo District, between 2011 and 2016. She published her autobiography, My Life's Journey, in 2011.

Henry Luke Orombi is a Ugandan Anglican bishop. He served as Archbishop of Uganda and Bishop of Kampala from 2004 until his retirement in December 2012, two years earlier than expected. He was succeeded as Archbishop by Stanley Ntagali, who was consecrated in December 2012. Orombi served as Bishop of the Diocese of Kampala, which is the fixed episcopal see of the Archbishop, but unlike many other fixed metropolitical sees, the incumbent is not officially known as "Archbishop of Kampala", but bears the longer compound title "Archbishop of Uganda and Bishop of Kampala".

John Byabagambi is a Ugandan engineer and politician. He is the Cabinet Minister for Karamoja Affairs, in the Cabinet of Uganda. He was appointed to that position on 6 June 2016. He previously served as Minister of Works and Transport between March 2015 and June 2016, replacing Abraham Byandala who was appointed Minister Without Portfolio. He is also the elected Member of Parliament, representing Ibanda County South, Ibanda District. He was first elected to that position in 2001.

Napak District is a district in Northern Uganda. It is named after Mount Napak, and its headquarters is at Lokitede.

Stanley Ntagali was a Ugandan Anglican bishop. Since 2012, he has been the Archbishop of Uganda, and therefore head of the Church of Uganda, and Bishop of Kampala. He was Bishop of Masindi-Kitara from 2004 to 2012.

Moses Kizige, is a Ugandan politician, currently State Minister for Karamoja in the Ugandan Cabinet. He was appointed to that position on 6 June 2016, replacing Barbara Nekesa Oundo, who was dropped from cabinet. Kizige also serves as the elected member of parliament, representing Bugabula North Constituency, in Kamuli District, in the 10th Parliament of Uganda (2016–2021).

Samuel Stephen Kaziimba Mugalu is a Ugandan Anglican bishop. On 28 August 2019, he was elected to serve as the ninth Archbishop of Uganda and Bishop of Kampala, effective 1 March 2020.
