Gillingham Football Club is a professional association football club based in the town of Gillingham, Kent, England. The only Kent-based club in the Football League, the "Gills" play their home matches at Priestfield Stadium. The team competes in League Two, the fourth tier of the English football league system, in the 2023–24 season.
Gillingham Football Club is an English football club based in Gillingham, Kent. The club was formed in 1893, and played in the Southern League until 1920, when that league's top division was absorbed into the Football League as its new Division Three. The club was voted out of the league in favour of Ipswich Town at the end of the 1937–38 season, but returned 12 years later, when that league was expanded from 88 to 92 clubs. Twice in the late 1980s Gillingham came close to winning promotion to the second tier of English football, but a decline then set in and in 1993 the club narrowly avoided relegation to the Football Conference. In 2000, the "Gills" reached the second tier of the English league for the first time in the club's history and went on to spend five seasons at this level, achieving a club record highest league finish of eleventh place in 2002–03. The club has twice won the division comprising the fourth level of English football: the Football League Fourth Division championship in 1963–64 and the Football League Two championship in 2012–13.
Brian George Yeo is an English former football striker. He spent almost his entire career playing for Gillingham, for whom he holds the all-time record for the most goals scored in the Football League.

James Walter "Jock" Robertson was an English association footballer who played professionally for Gillingham. He joined the club while it was still playing non-league football and went on to set a club record for the most matches played in the Football League, making over 350 appearances.

David Ian Crown is an English retired professional footballer who played as a forward in the Football League, most notably for Cambridge United and Southend United. He also played for Reading, Gillingham, Brentford, Portsmouth and Exeter City. Until March 2021, Crown's 24 goals in a Football League season stood as Cambridge United's club record. He later player-managed Purfleet in non-League football and served as assistant manager at Concord Rangers and Southend United.
Trevor Quow is an English former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. He played in the Football League for Gillingham, Peterborough United and Northampton Town, and in the Conference for Kettering Town. He also played non-league football for Sudbury Town, Stamford and Boston United, and for several clubs in Hong Kong.
Francis Joseph was an English professional footballer who played as a forward for a large number of clubs in the Football League, including Wimbledon, Brentford, Reading, Sheffield United, Crewe Alexandra, Fulham, Barnet and Gillingham, between 1980 and 1992. He also spent time playing outside the United Kingdom, including spells with Honka, JYP 77 and HJK Helsinki in Finland, Racing Ghent in Belgium and Tampa Bay Rowdies in the United States. He eventually dropped into non-League football, playing for numerous clubs before becoming a coach at non-League level in 1995.
David Henry Stocks is an English former professional footballer who played as a defender for Charlton Athletic, Gillingham, AFC Bournemouth and Torquay United. In total he made 461 appearances in the Football League between 1961 and 1977, scoring five goals.
Allan Gauden was an English professional footballer who played as a midfielder. He played professionally for Sunderland, Darlington, Grimsby Town, Hartlepool United and Gillingham between 1962 and 1976, and in total made 329 appearances in the Football League, scoring 75 goals.

William Frederick Albury was an English professional footballer. Upon discharge in 1956, Albury joined the club as a professional. He later played for Gillingham between 1958 and 1960, and in total made 61 appearances in the Football League, scoring 12 goals. He later played in the Southern League for Yeovil Town and in the Hampshire League for Waterlooville, where, as player-manager, he led the club to their first appearance in the first round proper of the FA Cup, against Kettering Town in 1968-69.
Peter Stringfellow is an English former professional footballer. He played for Oldham Athletic, Gillingham and Chesterfield between 1958 and 1965, making more than 100 appearances in the Football League, but his professional career came to an end after he was involved in a car crash which killed a teammate.
Michael John Bickle was an English professional footballer. A striker, he played for Plymouth Argyle and Gillingham between 1965 and 1973, before his career was cut short by injury.
William John Jervis is an English former professional footballer. He made only one appearance in The Football League, in a match which was abandoned early and represents one of the few uncompleted Football League matches for which the result was allowed to stand.
Richard David Bowman is an English former professional footballer.
Leon Henry Vaessen was an English professional footballer of the 1950s and 1960s. He made over 50 appearances in The Football League.
James Alfred Fletcher was an English former footballer of the 1950s and 1960s, who played professionally for Gillingham and as a semi-professional for various clubs in Kent. After retiring from football he became a successful breeder of racing greyhounds.
