The original high school building (now Peters Township Middle School) was built in 1968 and renovated in 1981, 2001 for $24 million[2], and 2021 for $16 million[3]. The new high school building was constructed in 2021 for $83 million.[4] It is located at the site of the former Rolling Hills Country Club, which closed in 2015. The 2012 movie The Perks of Being A Wallflower filmed some scenes at the original high school building.[5][6][7][8]
Peters Township High School athletic teams compete in the Western Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic League (WPIAL) and the high school offers sixteen varsity-level sports: Baseball, Basketball, Cheerleading, Cross Country, Field Hockey, Football, Golf, Ice Hockey, Lacrosse, Soccer, Softball, Swimming & Diving, Tennis, Track & Field, Volleyball, and Wrestling.
Football Championships & Notable Seasons
2019: Finished as the WPIAL runner-up with a 12-2 record, losing to Gateway in the championship game.
2020: Finished as the WPIAL runner-up with an 8-1 record (COVID-shortened season), losing to Pine-Richland in the championship game.
2023: Under the leadership of head coach T.J. Plack, the Indians achieved a historic milestone by securing their first-ever WPIAL Class 5A title, defeating Pine-Richland in the championship game. The team advanced to the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA) State Championship Game and lost to Imhotep Charter, ending the season with a 15-1 record.
2024: Finished as the WPIAL runner-up with an 11-2 record, losing to Pine-Richland in the championship game.
