Petros Gkaidatzis (born 25 November 2000) is a Greek rower. He won a bronze medal at the 2024 Summer Olympics in the lightweight double sculls.

Career

A member of the Greek lightweight double sculls team since 2018, he started rowing with Antonios Papakonstantinou in 2023. [3] In May 2023 at the 2023 European Rowing Championships in Bled, Slovenia, Gkaidatzis took bronze together with Antonios Papakonstantinou in the lightweight double sculls. [4] That month, they qualified for the Olympic Games at the qualifying tournament in Lucerne. [5]

Competing at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, the duo qualified through the preliminary rounds to reach the final. [6] [7] They subsequently won the bronze medal.

Aikaterini "Katerina" Nikolaidou is a Greek rower. Nikolaidou represented Greece, along with Sofia Asoumanaki at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, finishing in the 4th place. She also won a silver medal, in the lightweight single sculls at the 2013 World Rowing Championships and 2014 World Rowing Championships, and in the in the lightweight double sculls along with Sofia Asoumanaki at the 2015 World Rowing Championships. She won the gold medal in the lightweight single sculls at the 2014 European Champion and 2013 European Champion. She won the gold medal in the single sculls, at the 2018 Mediterranean Games in Tarragona, and at the 2013 Mediterranean Games in Mersin.

The rowing competitions at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris ran from 27 July to 3 August at the Stade nautique de Vaires-sur-Marne, National Olympic Nautical Stadium of Île-de-France in Vaires-sur-Marne. The number of rowers competing across fourteen gender-based categories at these Games was reduced from 526 to 502, with an equal distribution between men’s and women’s events. Despite the slight changes in athlete figures, the rowing program for Paris 2024 remained constant from the previous edition as the competition featured an equal number of categories for men and women, with seven each.
