Pieter Gysel (born 18 December 1980 in Leuven, Flemish Brabant, Belgium) is a Belgian short track speed skater. [1]

Belgium sent a delegation to compete at the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano, Japan from 7–22 February 1998. The nation was represented by only one athlete, speed skater Bart Veldkamp. He won a bronze medal in the men's 5,000 metres race. With that bronze medal, Belgium finished in joint 22nd place on the medal table.

Belgium sent a delegation to compete at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada from 12–28 February 2010. The nation has been to every Winter Olympics except two, both in the 1960s. The Belgian delegation to Vancouver consisted of eight athletes, competing in four different sports. The delegation did not win any medals, and their best performance in any event was ninth by Pieter Gysel in the short track speed skating 1,500 meters event.

Pieter Timmers is a Belgian retired competitive swimmer who specialized in sprint freestyle events. He won the silver medal in the 100 meter freestyle at the 2016 Olympics. Timmers currently holds nine Belgian records, and seven national titles in long and short course freestyle. Timmers is a resident athlete for Brabo Antwerp, and trains under his personal coach Ronald Gaastra. He stands 2.00 m, and weighs 89 kg (196 lb). He ended his career in Budapest in the second season of the International Swimming League in 2020.

Pieter Desmet is a Belgian steeplechase and long-distance runner. He is a two-time national champion for his category, and a member of Atletiek Zuid-West Club in Zwevegem, being coached and trained by Dirk de Maesschulck. He also achieved a personal best time of 8:15.02, at a world meeting in Heusden-Zolder, Belgium.

Peter Pieters is a retired Dutch cyclist who was active between 1980 and 1998. On track, he competed at the 1996 Summer Olympics in the individual 4 km pursuit and points race, and won a bronze medal in the points race at the 1991 world championships. On the road, he won the Delta Profronde (1988), Paris–Tours (1988), Profronde van Almelo (1990) and Ronde van de Haarlemmermeer (1996), as well as individual stages of the Olympia's Tour (1983), Vuelta a Burgos (1984), Driedaagse van West-Vlaanderen (1984), Vuelta a Murcia (1985), Tour of Belgium (1988) and Tour of Sweden (1992). After retiring from competition he worked as a cycling coach, in particular he was successful with the Belgian national team: in 2017 the Belgium national team brought home the highest number of medals in 50 years.

Wim De Deyne is a Belgian short track speed skater. He competed at the 2002 Winter Olympics and the 2006 Winter Olympics.
