Volusia County is located in the east-central part of the U.S. state of Florida between the St. Johns River and the Atlantic Ocean. As of the 2020 census, the county was home to 553,543 people, an increase of 11.9% from the 2010 census. It was founded on December 29, 1854, from part of Orange County, and was named for the community of Volusia, located in northwestern Volusia County. Its first county seat was Enterprise. Since 1887, its county seat has been DeLand.
Deltona is a city in central Florida and the most populous city in Volusia County. It is located on the northern shore of Lake Monroe along the St. Johns River in central Florida. As of the 2020 census, the city population was 93,692. The city is part of the Deltona–Daytona Beach–Ormond Beach, Florida metropolitan statistical area, which is grouped with the larger Orlando–Lakeland–Deltona, Florida combined statistical area.

H.B. Plant High School is a public high school located in the neighborhood of South Tampa in Tampa, Florida, United States. It opened in 1927 between South Himes Avenue on the east and Dale Mabry Highway on the west. The school is named in honor of railroad and hotel tycoon Henry B. Plant, who connected Tampa to the United States railroad system in 1884, helping the isolated village to grow into a large city over the following decades. The school mascot is the Panther, and its motto is "Strength Through Unity." Plant High School has an enrollment of more than 2,500 students.

Spruce Creek High School is a public secondary school located in the city of Port Orange, Florida. It is the largest IB high school in North America and is one of Newsweek's Top 100 High Schools. Spruce Creek High School is part of the Volusia County Schools system, which encompasses eight other high schools and 80 schools total. The one-story campus is dominated by a single, contiguous main building, with a separate, smaller Multi-purpose building and several portable classroom buildings, which are spread out across the campus. The school has been named a Blue Ribbon School of Excellence, as well as a Florida Music Demonstration School several years in a row. Ranked 1st in North America and 3rd in the world for the number of IB exams administered.
Lincoln High School is a public high school located in the city of Lincoln, California. The school, which serves grades 9 through 12, is a part of the Western Placer Unified School District. It is one of two high schools in Lincoln, California and has its own working school farm - one of the largest in the state. The school finished construction of the Edward A. Grey Sports Complex in 2005, including a new stadium and baseball fields. In 2007 Lincoln High School celebrated its 100th anniversary with the largest graduating class in the school's history. while also celebrating the honor of receiving the California Distinguished school award earned by that year's graduating class.
Clarke County High School is a public high school in Berryville, Virginia. CCHS was ranked 19th on Newsweek's Top 1200 High Schools list in 2006. This used a metric based on the amount of Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate tests taken by all the students in 2005 divided by the amount of graduating seniors. Its courses cover a wide spectrum of advanced levels including the International Baccalaureate program; dual-enrollment courses with Laurel Ridge Community College and AP courses. Deltona High School is a public high school located in Deltona, Florida, United States. It is located on Wolf Pack Run, east of Interstate 4 in the city's northwestern corner. In the 2011–2012 academic school year, the school enrolled 1,666 students in grades 9–12. Deltona High opened on August 29, 1988 as the city's first high school. The school was the first high school in Volusia County to be built since Spruce Creek High School in 1975. The School's main "rival", Pine Ridge High School, comes just down Howland Boulevard.

University High School is a public, four-year high school located in Orange City, Florida, United States. Established in 2010, it is the newest high school established in Volusia County since 1994, as well as its costliest. As of 2010, it was the largest high school in Volusia County by enrollment.
