Originally hosted by Toni Gonzaga, Nikki Gil, Sam Milby, Bianca Gonzalez and Roxanne Barcelo. it aired on the network's weekend line-up from August 27, 2006 to October 5, 2008, replacing U Can Dance and was replaced by Kahit Isang Saglit and The Singing Bee. Gonzaga, Gil and Billy Crawford serve as the final hosts.

Songbird is a late-night musical show presented by singer Regine Velasquez in the Philippines. It premiered on GMA Network on May 15, 2008, and ended on August 9, 2008. Each episode has a musical theme at its core which ranges from artist tributes to songs taken from various genres and styles of music. The program featured solo performances rendered by Velasquez, in front of a live audience, as well as select duets with guest performers. The production numbers were based on the episode's concept of the week. Many of the songs covered on the show were often selected from the catalog of contemporary musical acts.
The first season of Pinoy Dream Academy formally began on August 27, 2006, and ended on December 16 of the same year replacing U Can Dance. Nikki Gil was the main host of this season, while joining her in the Saturday Gala Nights were Bianca Gonzalez, Roxanne Barcelo, and Toni Gonzaga. Sam Milby was also part of the Saturday shows, but had stopped appearing mid-season. Barcelo also hosted the UpLate edition of the show.

Nikki Gil and Toni Gonzaga reprised their roles as hosts of the show, but Gonzaga now handled the main hosting plum while Gil appeared both on the Probation Nights and Little Dreamers Gala/Expulsion Night. Billy Crawford joined this season as the host of the late afternoon edition Pinoy Dream Academy Überture.

It is a cover album consisting of Nina's renditions of familiar love songs written by American songwriter Diane Warren.
