Pioneer, formerly News from Verona, is an American Christian music band. They come from Indianapolis, Indiana. The band started making music in 2008. Their membership is Chad Shirrell, Dalton Meyers, Dan Voris, and Dustin Jones, with former members being Josh Randolph and Nick Berry. The band released, an extended play as News from Verona, All I Know Is I Know Nothing, independently, in 2010. Their next release, a studio album, was released by Slospeak Records, Pioneer , in 2012. They released, a second extended play, Passive Aggression, Pt. 1, in 2015, with Slospeak Records.

Background

Pioneer, who formerly went by News from Verona, is a Christian music band from Indianapolis, Indiana. [1] [2] Their current members are lead vocalist and guitarist, Chad Shirrell, lead guitarist, Dalton Meyers, guitarist, Dustin Jones, and drummer, Dan Voris. Their former members are former front man lead vocalist and keyboardist, Josh Randolph, and bassist, Nick Berry. [1] [3]

Music history

The band commenced as a musical entity in 2008, with their first release, All I Know Is I Know Nothing, an extended play, that was independently released, on June 8, 2010. [4] Their first studio album, Pioneer , was released on January 24, 2012, with Slospeak Records. [5] This album had three singles released, where they charted on the Billboard magazine Christian Rock chart, while "Treason" and "Dream" peaked at No. 1 on the chart, [6] [7] "Lights" reached a peak position of No. 6. [8] They released, an extended play, Passive Aggression, Pt. 1, with Slospeak Records, on May 12, 2015. [9]

Capital Lights was an American Christian pop rock band from Tulsa, Oklahoma. Formed in 2002 as Aftereight, the band changed its name after signing to Tooth & Nail Records in 2008. The group initially disbanded in 2009, but reunited in late 2010 until 2012.

Escape is the debut studio album by the American Christian rock band Nine Lashes, released on June 5, 2009. Recorded before the group signed to Tooth & Nail Records, the album was released through the independent record label Collide Records and produced by Travis Wyrick, and has a slightly darker sound than their second album and Tooth & Nail debut, World We View. While the album itself failed to chart, the songs "Words of Red" and "Word of Advice" made Billboard's Christian rock chart.

Luminate is an American contemporary Christian music band from Tyler, Texas. The band members are Samuel Hancock on vocals, Cody Clark on guitar, Dustin DeLong on keys and vocals, Dusty Jakubik on bass, and Aaron Matthew on drums. The band released their debut studio album under the Sparrow Records label on January 25, 2011 called Come Home. The album Come Home was nominated for the Rock/Contemporary Album of the Year at the 43rd GMA Dove Awards. The bands' second album is Welcome to Daylight, which was released under the Sparrow label on August 28, 2012, and has seen chart success. The first single from the album "Banner of Love" has seen success on the charts, as well, and was released on July 24, 2012.

Unspoken is an American Christian band. The band is composed of Chad Mattson, Jon Lowry, and Ariel Munoz. The band released their debut single, "Who You Are", on the Centricity Music label. Released on June 12, 2012, the song has charted on numerous Christian song charts, and was the only song from the band's debut EP Get to Me to be featured on their first full-length album. The self-titled debut LP Unspoken was released April 1, 2014. A five-song preview EP, The World Is Waking, was released July 24, 2013. They have had four straight top-five AC singles in their career including "Who You Are", "Lift My Life Up", "Start a Fire", and "Good Fight", with "Start a Fire" reaching No. 1; the song "Lift My Life Up" was also included on the 2015 WOW Hits release. The band also toured alongside Big Daddy Weave and Sanctus Real.

Among the Thirsty is an American contemporary Christian music and worship band based out of Clearwater, Florida. Formed in 2005, their members include lead vocalist and acoustic guitarist, Ryan Daniel, guitarist and background vocalist, Brian Scott Henderson, bass guitarist and background vocalist, Brock Douglas and pianist, Alan Pelno. They released, Wonder, with Rev Music Group in 2008, and their song, "I'd Need a Savior", appeared on various Christian Song charts published by Billboard magazine. Their second album, Who You Say I Am, was released by BEC Recordings in 2015, this album saw two songs, "What Love Looks Like" and "Completely", appear on various Christian Song charts.

JJ Weeks Band is an American contemporary Christian music band from Macon, Georgia that began in 2001. The band is composed of lead vocalist and acoustic guitarist Jason Clint "JJ" Weeks, drummer Jon Poole, bass guitarist David Hart, and guitarist Cody Preston. Their 2013 release, All Over the World, with Inpop Records, saw several songs chart on various Christian Songs charts published by Billboard magazine, including: "Let Them See You," "What Kind of Love," and "Do Not Be Afraid." They are currently signed to Centricity Music where they released their most recent studio album, As Long as We Can Breathe in April 2016.

Carrollton was an American contemporary Christian music band from Cincinnati, Ohio and Louisville, Kentucky, United States. They formed in 2008, as Mosteller. Their current members are bass guitarist/background vocalist Jordan Bailey, drummer/background vocalist Michael Loy, lead vocalist/guitarist Stephen Moore, and lead guitarist/background vocalist David Terry. They released Breathe in Deep, an extended play (EP), with Centricity Music in 2014, and this EP was reviewed by many Christian music publications. The song, "Holding on to You", charted on the Christian Airplay Billboard magazine chart. Their 2017 song "Made For This" was featured in advertisements for NBCUniversal's coverage of the 2018 Winter Olympics. Carrollton released its latest project, a self-titled album, on May 8, 2020. On March 25, 2021, Carrollton made an announcement on Instagram that they will no longer be making music.

Fusebox was an American contemporary Christian music band from Atlanta, Georgia and Nashville, Tennessee, and they formed in 2000 and disbanded in 2006, while their frontman was Billy Buchanan. They released, Lost in Worship, with Inpop Records and Elevate Records, in 2002. Through the same label they released Once Again in 2004, and saw the single, "Once Again", placed on the Billboard Christian Songs chart.

We Are Leo is a Pop Artist and Producer from the Chicago area. The project also currently features contributions from singer Joseph Sanborn and bassist Howard Lalgee and was originally founded by David Duffield and Jonny Duffield with support from Ben Kasica and Joe Snyder and band members Doug Weier, Andrew Alojipan. RAVENHILL is an American rock band. They are originally from southern Illinois relocated to Nashville, Tennessee but now reside near the Dallas, Texas area. The band started making music in 2009. Their membership is Joshua Clifton, Brady Clifton, Kalen Orr, & Keith Schaubert with former members Coleman Fitch, Dane Johns, David Curtis, Kyle Hassenfratz, Taylor Chance, and Jonathan Raby. The band released an album, Ladies and Gentlemen, I Present To You..., independently in 2009. Their next release, the EP Live on Delmar, was released independently in 2010. They released a second extended play, Lions, in 2011, also independently. Their first studio album, Soul, was released by Slospeak Records in 2015. They released an EP called “Spirit” on Honey Gold Records in 2018. Later on August 3rd in the same year, RAVENHILL released “Midnight Gold” on Honey Gold Records.

Sons,, formerly Sons of God, was an American Christian music band from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. They started making music in 2007 and disbanded in 2008, only to reform in 2009, and disbanded again in 2013. Their members were Aaron Newberry, Ethan Kattau, David Gedders and Chris Erickson when they finally disbanded, with former members being Jordan McGee, Alex Rust, Kyle Laster, and Michael Lopez.

Fever Fever, is an American Christian music band. They come from Columbus, Ohio. The band started making music in 2005. Their membership is Drew Murfin, Wes Black, Andrew Bashaw, and Zack Taylor. The band released three extended plays while they were independent from a label; Fever Fever in 2008, Kingdom in 2012, and Native Color in 2013. They released an album, LoveQuest independently in 2009. Their first studio album, Aftermath was released by Slospeak Records, in 2014.

Ryan Daniel Squitieri is an American recording artist, singer, songwriter, and lead singer of the band Among the Thirsty. It was announced on October 31, 2016, that Daniel is now an artist rep for music compilation company Mattrix Mixtape presented by Matthew Rix.
