Piotr Nowak (born 30 April 1980) is a Polish economist and politician. He was Minister of Development and Technology in the Second Cabinet of Mateusz Morawiecki until resigning in March 2022. [1]

Fighting Solidarity was a Polish anti-Soviet and anti-communist organization. It was founded in June 1982 by Kornel Morawiecki in the Polish city of Wrocław. Its creation was in response to the de-legalization of the Solidarity movement and associated communist government repression of the opposition symbolized by the imposition of martial law in 1981. Many consider this faction as one of the most radical and uncompromising splinters of the wider Solidarity movement.

Presidential elections were held in Poland on 10 and 24 May 2015. In the first round of voting Law and Justice (PiS) candidate, lawyer and Member of the European Parliament, Andrzej Duda received the greatest number of votes with a share of 34.76%, followed by incumbent president Bronisław Komorowski, who ran as an independent with the endorsement of the Civic Platform (PO), which he had renounced his membership in after winning the 2010 elections. Independent candidate Paweł Kukiz came third with 20.80% of the votes. As no candidate had received more than 50% of the votes cast, a second round was held on 24 May between the two highest-placed candidates, Duda and Komorowski. This round was won by Duda with 51.5% of the votes, to Komorowski's 48.5%.

Mateusz Jakub Morawiecki is a Polish economist, historian and politician who served as the prime minister of Poland between 2017 and 2023. A member of the Law and Justice (PiS) party, he previously served in the cabinet of prime minister Beata Szydło as deputy prime minister from 2015 to 2017, Minister of Development from 2015 to 2018 and Minister of Finance from 2016 to 2018. Prior to his political appointment, Morawiecki had an extensive business career. He is considered to have been a de iure leader of Poland, with the de facto leader being Jarosław Kaczyński, the leader of the party Morawiecki is a member of.

Free and Solidary was a small political party in Poland. Founder Kornel Morawiecki, the Senior Marshal of the Sejm, led the party until his death in 2019. The party was plagued with poor electoral performances, lack of agreements with other parties, and later legal troubles which led to a court-appointed curator disbanding the party in 2020. The party has been reactivated in late 2021.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Social Committee of the Council of Ministers</span>

The Social Committee of the Council of Ministers is an advisory body to the council of ministers of the Republic of Poland and the President of the Council of Ministers. The committee's major objective is review social affairs within the framework of the 1st and 2nd cabinets of Mateusz Morawiecki. Established in 2017, the Committee was originally chaired by Beata Szydło, the previous prime minister and incumbent Deputy Prime Minister. Piotr Gliński has been President of the Committee since June 24, 2019, following his predecessor's election to the European Parliament.

The Jerzy Semkow Polish Sinfonia Iuventus Orchestra is the national youth orchestra of Poland. It was established in 2007 on the initiative of Jerzy Semkow by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. It is composed of young musicians under 30 years of age.
