Pippa Wetzell (born 26 January 1977) is a New Zealand television personality and journalist with TVNZ 1.
Wetzell attended Takapuna Grammar School on Auckland's North Shore, where she was Head Girl in 1994. [1] She went on to study at the Auckland University of Technology, graduating with a Bachelor of Communications degree. [2]
She was hired by Television New Zealand in 1998 for the overnight assignments desk. [2] She has had several roles at TV ONE's breakfast television programme Breakfast , starting as a junior meet-and-greet assistant before reporting news for the show. From 2001 she was a reporter for ONE News , later returning to Breakfast as back-up host for Kay Gregory. She has also presented the consumer affairs show Fair Go . Following Gregory's departure from Breakfast in 2007, she became co-host with Paul Henry. Wetzell left the show at the end of 2010. [2] [3]
Wetzell is of German and Samoan heritage. [4] She is married to lawyer Torrin Crowther, a competition law partner at Bell Gully. The couple have three children. [5]
Pippa's younger brother, Yanni Wetzell, is a professional basketball player. [6]
1 News is the news division of New Zealand television network TVNZ. The programme is broadcast live from TVNZ Centre in Auckland. The flagship news bulletin is the nightly 6 pm news hour, but 1 News also has midday and late night news bulletins, as well as current affairs shows such as Breakfast and Seven Sharp.

Paul Henry Hopes, known professionally as Paul Henry, is a New Zealand radio and television broadcaster who was the host of the late night show The Paul Henry Show on New Zealand's TV3 which ended December 2014 so that Henry could host a new cross platform three-hour breakfast show Monday to Friday on TV3, RadioLive and online. Paul Henry launched on 7 April 2015 and initially had an audience larger than the two shows it replaced on radio and TV. For nine months in 2012, he also co-hosted an Australian television show, Breakfast, which ceased production on 30 November 2012, due to low ratings.
