Pitamber Das (1905-1985) was an Indian politician. He was the President of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh. He was a Member of Parliament,representing Uttar Pradesh in the Rajya Sabha the upper house of India's Parliament as a member of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh. [1] [2] [3]
The Bharatiya Janata Party is one of two major political parties in India,along with the Indian National Congress. It has been the ruling political party of the Republic of India since 2014 under its prime minister,Narendra Modi. The BJP is a right-wing party,and its policy has historically reflected Hindu nationalist positions. It has close ideological and organisational links to the much older Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). The Bharatiya Jana Sangh was an Indian right wing political party that existed from 1951 to 1977 and was the political arm of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS),a Hindu nationalist volunteer organisation.
