Planet Records is an Italian independent label founded in 1998 by producer Roberto Ferrante. [1] It has had twelve records certified platinum in Europe, four gold and two silver. Its records have sold several million copies. [2]

Group

Planet Records is part of an international Discographic & Publishing Group, with branches and / or operators in Miami, New York, Napoli, Milan, Paris, Havana-Cuba, Santo Domingo [3] using a large worldwide distribution network of both "physical records" and "digital music". The Group is managed by the European headquarters staff. In the U.S., the staff includes human resources of great experience like Daisy De La Cruz as Head of Promotion, Marlene Maseda as TV promoter and Jeff Young (and his Venetian Staff) as sales manager. The brands Planet Records America and Planet Records Europe are an exclusive ownership, to the group also belong various international Music Publishing Companies and the recordin/remastering studio "Planet Recordings Studio" (intended only to Planet's own production). Since 2004, Planet is also operative in the sector of magazines with Latino!, bimonthly music magazine that, in 8 years, has sold in Italian newsstands more than 1,250,000 copies, and other successful magazine publications.

History

Roberto Ferrante, a producer and remixer who had worked at Flying Records before its closure, created Planet Records. [3]

In 2003 the company released Noelia's "Enamorada", followed by Aventura's [4] "Obsesión" [5] [6]

Planet Records created a music magazine with a CD included which has called it Latino! [7] which almost 1,250,000 copies sold in 8 years [8] ). At the end of 2004 Planet Records promoted a new Dominican artist, Papi Sánchez releasing the CD "Yeah Baby" and the single "Enamórame", which sold about 1,000,000 copies in Europe. In 2005/2006 Planet continues the collection of chart hits with the reconfirmation of Aventura among the 20 top sellers of the year with the album Love & Hate and God's Project , followed by the singles "Nore" , "Oye Mi Canto", Bascom X's "Lonely Girl", the new CD of the reunion of the Tears for Fears Everybody Loves a Happy Ending and the return of former Spice Girl Melanie C with the album Beautiful Intention. In 2005 Planet Records had artists present at the Festivalbar. In 2006 it released the first Italian product from Piper whose single CD was Ciao Ciao. [9]

Planet Records released and promoted the new solo album This Time by the former Spice Girl Melanie C and promoted the Aventura's new album KOB and in April 2008 a new album by Hanson.

Planet Records opened an office at Miami, Florida and became Planet Records US LLC. [1]

Omega, [10] El Cata, Gente De Zona, Alex Matos, Prince Royce, Luis Enrique, Fito Blanko were promoted by Planet Records.

The discography of Geri Halliwell, an English pop music singer, contains three studio albums, nine singles, and ten music videos. In 1999, Halliwell launched her solo career and released her debut album Schizophonic, with the lead single "Look at Me", produced by Absolute "Look at Me" would go on to sell over one million copies worldwide followed by further number ones at the UK Singles Chart "Mi Chico Latino", "Lift Me Up" and "Bag It Up". "Look at Me" was released to radio in the United States in late 1999, receiving limited airplay. It was included on their second studio album, We Broke the Rules (2002), and an English-language version was made for the same album. The song achieved success in many countries, topping many international charts. In France, the song held the French Singles Chart's number-one slot for seven weeks, and as of August 2014, it was the 19th-best-selling single of the 21st century in France, with 565,000 units sold. A radio remix of the song was added to the 2004 special edition version of Love & Hate, which was exclusively released in Italy.

"Papi Te Quiero" (English: Daddy I Love You) is a song by Puerto Rican reggaetón recording artist Ivy Queen, from the platinum edition of her third studio album, Diva (2003). It was composed by Queen and her then husband Gran Omar, produced by Tony "CD" Kelly and Rafi Mercenario and released as the third single from the album in 2004. The song heavily samples Sean Paul's "Like Glue" released a year earlier. On digital editions of the album, Anthony Kelly, co-writer of "Like Glue", is credited as being featured on the song, though, provides no vocals. There is a music video associated with the song released along with the music video for the last single off the album "Tu No Puedes". In the music video, she sports the Los Angeles Lakers' women's sport outfit. Ivy Queen performed the English version of the song on ABC's Good Morning America. The song was performed as a part of the set of her 2008 World Tour which was held from the José Miguel Agrelot Coliseum, also known as the Coliseum of Puerto Rico in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

"Bailando" (transl. "Dancing") is a song by Spanish singer-songwriter Enrique Iglesias for his tenth studio album Sex and Love (2014). Written by Iglesias with long-time collaborator Descemer Bueno, the first and Spanish version was released with Cuban artists Bueno and Gente de Zona. Shortly afterward, the official version of the song was released by Universal Republic Records as the sixth single from the album. The song spent 41 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot Latin Songs chart. "Bailando" was produced by Carlos Paucar.

"La Gozadera" is a song by Cuban duo Gente de Zona as the lead single for their third studio album Visualízate. Featuring American singer Marc Anthony, it was released on April 30, 2015, by Sony Music Latin. The music video for the song was nominated in the Videoclip Awards 2016, The music video was directed by Alejandro Pérez and filmed in Cuba while the scenes with Marc Anthony were filmed in the Dominican Republic. The song was produced by Motiff, a salsa version was also recorded which was produced by Sergio George. As of February 2022, the video has received over 1.4 billion views on YouTube.

"Mi Gente" is a song recorded by Colombian singer J Balvin and French singer and producer Willy William. It was released on 30 June 2017 through Scorpio Music and Universal Music Latin. It is a remake of Willy William's song "Voodoo Song" which is an original French song by Willy William that went viral on Facebook in 2016 and released one year after. The single was serviced to United States contemporary hit radio on 18 July 2017. A remix version with American singer Beyoncé was released on 28 September 2017. J Balvin and Willy William released six more "Mi Gente" remixes on 20 October 2017 with Steve Aoki, Alesso, Cedric Gervais, Dillon Francis, Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano, and Henry Fong.

Durium was an Italian record label, active from 1935 to 1989. Part of the catalogue and the brand were subsequently taken over by Ricordi, who used it for some reissues. Its initial trademark consisted of the writing Durium in block letters, surmounted by the stylisation of three trumpets and an eagle. Immediately after the war, this logo was abandoned to move to the stylisation of a disk with three internal rays crossed by the writing Durium in italics.

"Noche Sin Día" is a song recorded by Italian trio Il Volo, featuring Cuban reggaeton duo Gente de Zona. It was released digitally on May 25, 2018, by Sony Music Latin as the lead single from Il Volo's upcoming fifth studio album Ámame.
