Polar is the second album by The High Water Marks. It was released in 2007 on Happy Happy Birthday To Me Records.

The High Water Marks is an indie rock band associated with the Elephant 6 collective. The band has two lead creative members, Hilarie Sidney and Per Ole Bratset, who co-write the band's music.

Happy Happy Birthday To Me Records is an American independent record label based in Athens, Georgia. Its catalogue features indie rock, indie pop and hip-hop music, with several of its artists associated with or influenced by The Elephant 6 Recording Company.

All tracks were written by Hilarie Sidney and Per Ole Bratset except for "Poison Remedy" and "Etter Sirkel", both written by Jim Lindsay.

Hilarie Sidney is a musician most famously recognized as the longtime drummer for The Apples in Stereo. She was previously married to Apples in Stereo frontman and Elephant 6 co-founder Robert Schneider. Their divorce became publicly acknowledged in 2004. She was one half of the now defunct Elephant 6 duo Secret Square and, with now-husband Per Ole Bratset, she is currently a major creative talent behind The High Water Marks.
